So, anyone watching it? I've been watching, but haven't had much chance to pay attention...So what do y'all think?

Meh. I don't find it terribly compelling.

I watched a bit of it. It seems too teenish for my liking.

Watched the first couple of episodes, then I took it off my DVR timer. I agree totally, Jen.

I am not the only one then. These were my thoughts exactlly. It is TV's version of Twilight and is probablly doing well with that group.
I didn't like anything about the show.

Which is such a shame because I did enjoy the books growing up. Even read them several months ago and enjoyed them again. This show could have been better.

I feel badlly for the authors tht have their books turned into shows that don't work. It sems that for everyone that works, there are 3 or 4 that don't.

Well, that's pretty much true in general vamp...but yeah, I do feel bad for them...of course, you also have to keep in mind which network it gets on...
Personally, I've had a bit of a problem, getting into it but I just thought it was because of distraction and being on my comp and all that...

^Definitely. You called it. Which is such a shame because I did enjoy the books growing up. Even read them several months ago and enjoyed them again. This show could have been better. I'm withyou there. I've read these books several times. Their sister series, "The Secret Circle," too. They RUINED Elena. Damon's dumb too.

The Secret Circle was my favorite LJ Smith trilogy ever. So well done. I would love to see it get movie or TV treatment but I think it would be too much like Twilight or the Vampire Diaries for my tastes.

I don't know that I preferred either series, but there are more characters in the Secret Circle. I actuallyLIKED Cassie with Nick. But noooo they had to make her dump him just for the hell of it because she wants Adam. I always thought that was lame.
WHY did the CW version of Vampire Diaries get rid of Meredith? And why did they make Elena so whiny and shy? She was a stuck-up popular girl at school! "The Queen of Robert E. Lee High School"! How many times did they say that? And she was BLONDE!!!!!
WTFFF?

I think they thought well it worked fro Twilight, it'll work for us! I'm sure that if they had stuck closer to the books, it would be a better show.

The story line is completely different from that of the books. It's gotten to the point you can't even compare it to the books anymore. In today's epi, Caroline knows Damon's a vamp? Huh? And Damon isn't really supposed to be evil, he's just well...misunderstood lol. In the show, he's downright nasty.
