The horrible thing is that people were telling LJ that she copied Twilight when her new book came it. I was all over Facebook (because, as a true nerd, I get pissed off at what people say on the Internet) trying to enlighten people that a person cannot steal that which she wrote first. Duh!!

^Oh, those ignorant twunts. I made Flair for Facebook that said Sookie came before Edward and True Blood is based on books originally published way ebfore Twilight and shit like that because I was sick of hearing Twihards say that True Blood (in essence, Charlaine Harris) copied off of Twilight. Get your facts straight before you make such a wild accusation, idiots. It was the telepathy, human/vamp love thing. Sorry, Charlaine did it first. Yeeeeeears ago. So yeah, I get annoyed at that too. Next they're gonna accuse Anne Rice or Bram Stoker of copying off Stephenie Meyer. Because, naturally, she invented vampire literature. (Don't even get me started on how NOT vampiric her "vampires" are.)

they are meant for a younger crowed but still a good read and it does seem like Stephanie Meyer helped herself to the story (sill feels bad for LJ smith) ^Totally agree. I wonder why one thing catches on and another doesn't. Right place at the right time? I was a freaky weirdo as a teen for reading vamp novels. Now it's ridiculously popular. I see t-shirts everywhere about it, whereas before it was obscure. I can't believe I see Damon and Stefan Salvatore on t-shirts. NOBODY knew who they were when I was a teenager. ;D

well i am going to post this here because my computer/internet won't let me onto the L.J Smith page grrrrrr.
I read the new VD book and got to say i enjoyed it so much more than the previous one, it still had the stupid tree things hanging around but it is very Elena & Damon centred (woo hoo)
Raven i know you and i had issues with Damon being possessed with the stupid tree things but he gets more personality and page time with some more great smart ass lines in this one =)
I recommend continuing to this book... Who know what she has in store for the next one but i am looking forward to it.

Now that's just silly. Everyone knows Al Gore invented vampires when he invented the internet thingy.

Thanks for the opinion, Kira. Honestly, I'd given up on the new ones after being so disappointed in the last one. Good to hear this one didn't suck so bad. Although I do kinda feel Elena and Stefan belong together. I *heart* Damon though.

Anybody still watching this?
OMG they turned annoying-as-hell Caroline into a vampire.
I'm glad they finally revealed what the SmallLockwood family secret is. Uncle Mason was about to kill Caroline and/or Stefan and Tyler just said, "Stop!" and the wolf trotted off into the woods? Mmmmkay. I wonder if he's gonna tell Tyler what THEY are.
And oooooooh, next week, Katherine and Elena finally meet face to face.
I feel bad for Damon. He's so sad and alone. it's cool that he confessed to Elena that he didn't actually know about Jeremy's ring when he snapped his neck. He's trying for honesty because he wants to earn her friendship back. But he's like, "Hell no." I can't say I blame her, but I feel bad for him. He lost his mind over Katherine's bitch ass.
Now, in the book, they aren't spitting image twins, they just resemble each other. Whatev.
Bonnie's got some issues too. Again, not that I blame her.
I'm not sure Caroline's ready for a daytime ring, but I guess they need to keep up appearances that she's normal. Sad that she had to get Matt to dump her, even if it was for his own protection. Shocker, she did the unselfish thing for once!

No, I punched the eject button on it. I wasn't so into it anyway, and with the acting what it was last season, well..yeah. I'm out!

I'm still watching...actually, so far I've been doing better at keeping track this season than last...of course, it's more important this season what with trying to figure out when it's Katherine and when it's Elena

True. But I think they're having Katherine's hair curly and Elena's hair straight, for the most part. (Unless it's an uber-special occasion, like the Founder's Ball, then Elena gets all done up and her hair MIGHT be curled.) I've noticed that Nina Dobrev tends to have a nasally voice sometimes, I think she's trying to go for husky or sultry. But it can get annoying.
I had a marathon one weekend after getting the first season on DVD and realized I missed fewer episodes than I thought. But I still plan on catching it more this year than I did last year. (Even though I missed the season premiere. Duh.)

Season opener was good, i agree she can sound annoying at times. Looking forward to the Katherine/Elena face off. oooh and Damon's bitchy comment loved it - you know you have allot more in common with Katherine than your looks *snap*

No kidding, but he's got a point!
LMAO!!! Damon: "Damon Salvatore." Lockwood: "I know, I've heard great things about you." Damon: "That's weird. 'Cause I'm a dick."

^He sooooooo does.
So, does Katherine actually love Stefan after all? Is she capable of anything other than self-love?
Lots of revelations in this episode. She betrayed all the vampires that were torched in order to save her own ass, working with a Lockwood in exchange for a moonstone. Caroline is working for Katherine. Mason Lockwood tells Tyler that in order to unleash the curse you have to kill a human. Silver doesn't work on THESE werewolves.
And Katherine's been sipping vervain for years to build up an immunity? Crafty wench.
What else am I forgetting? I'm sure there's a reason she's letting Elena live. Because if she really is back just because she wants Stefan, Elena is nothing but an obstacle. I imagine she knows that just killing her would only invite Stefan's wrath at this point, and maybe she does actually want him to love her again. So by merely threatening Elena and her loved ones, she hopes to break them so she can take her place.
