*licks Damon* It must be said. Paul Wesley is a sucky actor. Sorry. He's a perfect casting choice for Stefan, but he's just not that good. And they're writing in too many hookups. I guess that's how teenagers are though, right?

I think it's in response to the whole angsty vamp thing...keep in mind that Angel and Edward have very simmilar personalities...and the actual acting skill wasn't a good indication in either of those (though I'm still not sure David Boreanas has much more than that )...

The story of Katherine's turning was awful. The books have a much better one.
I like Rose. Elijah is deliciously evil. But him being able to compel other vampires is kinda lame. Especially them knowing he's doing it. Then why did he have Elena take off her vervain before he asked her questions about the moonstone? He's not immune to an herb, like Katherine, a youngster compared to him is, but he can compel vampires? Mmm hmm.
So WTF "curse" is Klaus trying to break? Being a vampire? The curse of the sun? Because if it's just the sun, that's lame. Why would he go to all this trouble to get the moonstone, the Petrova doppelganger (Elena), a vampire (Caroline), a werewolf (Tyler), and a witch (Bonnie) to perform some ritual needing sacrifice and likely Bonnie to perform a spell against her will when all he needs is a frackin' ring? How is it that Rose and Trevor never got a witch to hook them up with a ring? Elijah sure has no aversion to the sun. He works for Klaus, how about he hooks him up? Seems to me that getting a witch to make a sun-safe ring for you is A LOT easier than going to all the trouble to perform this ritual, having to collect all of these supernatural people and everything. Right? Is that the curse he's trying to break? I'm unclear on that.

He's not just trying to break it for himself, but the entire race...It's complicated enough to make a single ring...not to mention it seems only Bonnie knows how...
Oh, and Claus doesn't need Bonnie to clear up the curse because he has his own witch (warlock)...the dad of the guy she was talking to...

Ahhh, gotcha. Oh yeah, I saw that bastard.
I seriously doubt only Bonnie knows how to make the sun-safe rings. She's a newbie witch.
How does Elijah walk around in the sun?
And why would Klaus want to lift the sun curse for everyone? He's obviously not a nice guy, doing it for their benefit. How would it benefit HIM?
I wonder, are the rings in some way programmed to that particular vampire, or could another steal it and use it to protect himself against the sun? i.e. Could Rose take Damon's ring, either with our without his consent and use it to protect herself from the sun? Or does the witch make it for that vampire alone, so it protects only him or her?
I just don't see how Klaus couldn't already have one, if Elijah, his underling does, and if so, why he'd bother going to all this trouble to lift the sun curse for the entire race.

Well, it's not Bonnie in particular but a spell only passed down by her bloodline...
As for the rings themselves, they aren't particular for who they work for...I remember last season them being traded around a little bit...
Dunno how Elija, or Klaus for that matter, walk around in the sun...they probably already have rings or whatnot...(Wasn't that Klaus we saw throw the coins and break the UV protected window?)
As for why, well, he could be a good of the many type where he's willing to sacrifice a few of his kind for the larger portion...it's also possible that he's plotting a war against humans/werewolves/whoever, and wants to make certain he'll have troops without a weakness...

No, it was Elijah that threw the coins at the window. We have yet to see Klaus. Remember, Elijah was the one that beheaded Trevor, then got staked, but pulled the stake out and walked away from it? I want to be pissed at that, but I wonder if they're going to bring in the "white ash wood" thing from the books. Like, maybe older vamps are only fatally susceptible to certain types of wood, like white ash. If that's the case, cool. If not, poo. Vamps don't walk away from a stake through the heart. Give me an explanation, mofo. Jeaniene's vamps could survive anything but silver twisted through the heart. But we've seen these vamps die with a wooden stake through the heart. They need to EXPLAIN why Elijah didn't. And make it plausible. While they're at it, tell Ian Somerhalder to stop widening his eyes and trying to pass it off as acting. He's got more talent than that. Which reminds me, he and the show have been nominated for People's Choice Awards. (Along with TB.) Go vote! www.peopleschoice.com/pca/

Ah...I didn't catch the part where he pulled it out...I thought he was a bit older than who we've seen since...yeah, that would need to be explained...but there are potential reasons for it from the particular type of wood, like you mentioned, to the possibility that he has a full invulnerability ring...

^ you mean like Rick & Jeremy? Totally agree with you Ravie, i hope they bring in the specific wood thing otherwise WTF..... Ian Somehalder should just be half naked throughout the whole episode Now we have to wait 3 weeks for the next bloody episode, i hate it when they do that. Why so many breaks in the season? I understand Christmas and new year but isn't this like the second break already?

Thursdays and Fridays tend to get more breaks because of more holidays...There's going to be at least one week for Turkeyday...dunno why they added the extra week in though...

Kira, you're right. Make him take it off. Although Paul Wesley's got a good bod, too. He's kinda too young though.
