Coming out November 1st is a TV series based on Terry Goodkind's novels...From the little I've seen about it it does appear they're keeping fairly true to Wizzards First Rule... www.legendoftheseeker.com/ for the official site and to find out what channel in your area... www.imdb.com/title/tt0844653/ for IMdB I'm not sure about Bruce Spence as Zedd...he's a little on the insane looking side and I never quite pictured him as bedraggled...

I've read all of the books so far. I'll have to watch the show to see how it is. I just wonder how they'll deal with some of the more 'adult' themes as they come up later on down the line.

Yeah, the trailers look pretty good! I'm really suprised a show's been created in the Fantasy genre. I think it's like the 1st I've ever heard of. All the other shows out there are all cop shows, Si-Fi, dramas, some vamp shows and a couple supernatutal ones...but no Fantasy.

Well, the only truly adult theme in there they might have issues with is the torture, but even that can be glossed over...Any of the sex aspects can easily be brushed aside or done carefully...
And there've been a fair number of attempts at Fantasy shows...Xena and Hercules aside, most of them have collapsed within the first half season...probably why Seeker is listing only 13 episodes for the first season...

The first part of the series is very good. It gets a bit preachy, wanders around and gets bogged down with retelling the back stories of everyone over an over in the middle then gets back on track in the last couple of books. It can be tedious at times but over all very good. From the trailers and what I have read about it, I think the show will be very good. The first book is "Sword of Truth: Wizard's First Rule" One of the book covers...

Well, having read the final book of the series, I have to say that he redeemed himself...I was nervous after the last one but he more than made up for it in this one...
The strange thing is the ads I've seen say ABC, Sat. November 1st 12:05 AM !?!?!?

Being a syndicated show, it's at teh networks mercy if and when they will show it. It will be on one of my local FOX stations at 7 pm. woo hoo. I get off work at 6:30 and Saturday night programming is pretty much the suck around here. Now i have something to watch!
I saw a 10 minute preview trailer. It was amazing. This show is going to be great. There were a lot of differences from the book in just those 10 minutes but nothing off putting.

Watched the "making of" show and it looks really good. Can't wait for next week. They showed the first 5 minutes or so of the first episode and it was really good. Now I'm excited.
ps - Ladies - the guy playing Richard is really cute and in his first scene we see him chopping wood without his shirt. Yum!

Yep, I saw that clip on line. I was really impressed by it. The "making of" show didn't air here. If it did, I missed it. Guess it's on line or will be soon. looking forward to the first show next week.

It really does look like a quality show. It starts at 7 here and it's going to be 2 hours long tonight. This is a good thing because there is basiclly nothing on worth watching on Saturday's.
