Hmm. Still doesn't mean that Regan's out for the count until Vicki writes her tombstone. If Chandra and Micah were able to turn Joanna into Olivia, you can bet there's a doc on the Shadow side who'll turn "hamburger" into "holy cow, she's hot!". For a price of course....
I liked Regan's canniving mind. Joaquin was easier to let go, but this one's too much fun.

Yep, it's because the Tulpa was the one to deliver her punishment. And, remember, anyone who helps a rogue agent - which she now is since she's been cast out by the Tulpa - will have to face a bit of punishment, Tulpa-style, as well. There'd have to be some pretty big motive for even a Shadow to risk that.
So Regan can't operate as before, but she certainly isn't finished having her say ... even if her tongue has been severed into four separate pieces. :-P

Regan isn't done yet, though. And you can be sure she'll bring her own hell against whoever replaces her in the Shadow Zodiac.
Geesh, the Tulpa, Jo, and the entire Shadow Zodiac after her... not to mention her lost conduit, and the extensive physical injuries... She doesn't have much left to barter with. Confident she'll turn it around in some terrible, nasty way though- if Brynn was any indication.

Ok, I know I'm new to these boards, and maybe I haven't earned the right to chime in to the deep convos as of yet, but there are a few things that bother me about the story so far. I really enjoy the books.. 2nd read through on going as I type... Can't wait for the 4th book. Vicki, I think your telling a great tale here!
But... Two things really bother me... and during this reread I find my mind going to these nagging items... asking WHY!! For goodness sakes WHY!!
First thing is Jo's inability to learn from her mistakes. This drives me buggy... She is always going behind the troops backs to fight her own battle. This always comes back to bite her hard! She should have learned that this is not gonna work.
Second thing is how she's handling Ashlyn. It's like she forgot how she felt to find out who she was at 25, when she found out that the others all grew up knowing so much more then her. And she's willing to put Ashlyn through the same thing. Just doesn't sit right with me.
I've just started the reread of "Touch of Twilight" so maybe these things have taken care of themselves. Some of the postings here lead me to hope so.
As I said I love these books, and Vicki I think your a wonderful writer, but hey if there wasn't something in the story that gave ya an itch between the shoulderblades and made ya question, then they would be computer manuals! :-)
