I liked Hancock, though the 'twist' they throw in DOES lead you away from what you went to see the movie for. I agree that its got too many plots going on. I'd rather see the main one fleshed out a little more. And the big 'twist' was shadowed too early. It made me look for it so when it happened I was like, 'finally'.
All that said, its still worth a matinee ...I'd not suggest full price. These days all movies get reviewed by how much of my time and money I'd give up for it.

Hi guys! I just saw Hellboy II and I say "Boo-yah!" Lots of fun and plenty of snarky comments. Ron Perlman is so good as Hellboy! And while the plot is essentially nonsense, it was a huge amount of fun. Del Toro has such a great imagination for weirdo creatures and they fit in very nicely with Hellboy. I just want to know how they got Calista Flockhart to do a cameo as the princess!! {g}

I never saw the first one, so I'm not in a hurry to see the sequel. But I have a question. Were his horns cut off or something? They look like it and I was just wondering. Random lame question. Just curious.

Because he keeps them trimmed off to appear more human/less demon-like. BTW, my girlfriend who saw the movie with me hadn't seen HB I and still loved HB II.

In the first movie, he let them grow out and they are huge. There's no need to see one before two in this case as far as i know.

Oh, so they're like toenails? He can clip them? I was thinking of them like elephant tusks, like teeth. Once they're gone, they're gone. Gotcha. Thanks.

They're the horns on cattle. They can be trimmed or cut down but they will grow back. Tusks like an elephant's or wallrus are over sized teeth. Once they are cut or broken off, they're gone for good.
There was a scene in the last move where he was using a power sander to grind them down some .

That sounds owwie to me. But it hurts him no more that clipping nails?

That would be my assumption. There is a scene with a sander in the second movie as well.

Hellboy is supposed to be goofy...that's part of the charm...besides, they know you couldn't take it seriously when it has android-nazi-ninja-assasins...

I didn't stay either so I don't know. What I liked best about Hellboy were the one-liners. It had a lighter feel than the first movie. And del Toro had lots of opportunity to create wacko creatures. (Kind of like Spore Creature Creator??) But the story (if I can call it that) was silly.
