Thank you Raven. ;D Psychic VD, what a clever plot point...NOT! Shame on LKH. Yes shame on her! Doubt she knows the meaning of shame because she's busy character assassinating. I'm glad I stopped buying her books after Cerulean Sins. I wouldn't even bother picking them up at the library. Like Raven, I luuuuurved Richard. I found it amusing that she had Anita tell Richard that she embraced who she was and felt sorry for him for hating that he was "one of the monsters." Wasn't she the one who ran away from him after he embraced the monster and jumped into the arms of the corpse? Ok. I'm getting myself all riled up for nothing.

Actually, from the very first novel that Richard appears in he's in denial of what he is...from the first he's been the hypocrite...
You know, I'm kinda surprised honestly that she hasn't devolved into a lesbian scene in either series...it would be laughably simple and there's a number of readers out there who would pick up a novel just for that...

I personally never liked Richard. And I understand why Anita freaked out when he changed on TOP of her. I would be freaked too.
I hope there is no lesbian scene. I would cry.

Why? If anybody's a homophobe, it's Anita. I can't understand how Richard can be accused of being one. He's hetero. That's all. Doesn't make him homophobic. Just makes him straight. So, guy on guy is okay for Anita, but girl on girl isn't? She's so hypocritical.

Honestly, they're both fairly homophobic...and put that way, yes, she is somewhat hypocritical...But I'm sure eventually she'll come to grips even with that...

I don't consider a guy to be homophobic just because he doesn't want to participate in a threesome or share his girlfriend. Maybe he's just straight. Anita's fine with men on men because they all want her! Sorry, I'm quite bitter about this series. It turned into a sexfest where Anita is all-powerful and desirable to all.

And it started more as horror than erotica...I agree there...

Exactly. I liked it in the beginning. Remember when she said, "I don't date vampires, I kill them." Ha!

Well I got Blood Noir yesterday and finished it this morning. I have to say I like it. The page count could have been higher but then again it was suppose to be a novella and not a novel. It was more character development that a big bad. she does have more control over the ardeur than when she first got it. It's not something she is can completely get rid of but I think she might have a little when she took back her rage from Richard and he ended up with the ardeur to replace it.
I do have to admit I don't like all the men adding to her life but I like how Jason is her new wolf to call. I always liked Jason. He makes me laugh. I'm a sucker for a guy who can make me laugh. There wasn't that many sex scenes in my opinion. I think there was what 3? in the whole book. Don't get me wrong a couple of scenes were posted around one major sex scene that wasn't even in detailed. But then again I have no problem with sex. I'm a very open person about sexuality and sex maybe that is the reason why I like the series. I want to go back to school later and get a degree in human sexuality. I will admit with some people there wasn't really a major plot. It was more like a side note in Anita's life trying to help out a friend in need but it ended up chaotic. But like I said it was suppose to be a novella and not a novel in the beginning. And on another note. I was/am a bit hesitant posting this post with all the Anita bashing. I agree we are all entitled opinions. But it is kind of discouraging when you click on an author's thread to post something that you like and see a bunch of bashing on the series. So guys, can we lighten up on the Anita Bashing?

Well, just as you do, we have the right to state our opinions, too. As it happens, the people who are disappointed seem to be in the majority. Post as you will, it won't change anyone's mind.
I would hope that we are all mature enough not to make any comments personal.

Thank you debim. Unfortunately, I love to snark so to make people more comfortable, I'll give a little warning and put the snark in spoiler mode, like so: ANITA SNARK. Anita's cooter is the black hole. Back to Richard. He never struck me as being in denial but more as wanting to grasp at the life he worked hard to achieve. The lycanthropy was something he had to cope with but not something that he wanted to take over his life. He was still the Jr. High teacher and though he didn't wear the lycanthropy on his sleeve like most of them, I thought he was very real...Or I wished he were.

I love a good snark myself. Hell if you live in Seattle it's all around. I don't mean to impede on anyone. I guess that's why I'm such a worry wort and a few silver stray hairs at 22.
I do have to agree with you about Richard alegra about him not in denial. Being a lycanthropy was forced upon him. He was a human and a teacher first. Something he made himself into and wanted. Then lycanthropy was forced upon him by a bad doctor. That something you can really cope with. It's not like he asked 'hey.. can you change me into something that will wreck the life I have made and want to finish making.' Though some and most of the other lycanthropy have dealt with it better. I give him props for just trying to keep his life as normal as he can. Though it doesn't mean I have to like him. There is just something about him that gives me a vibe. But he's getting better.
