OK...reporting back. The Butterbeer recipe is actually quite tasty. The THIN slice of lemon suggested does add a certain something. It's not way tooooo sweet without it...and probably closer to what a 'butterbeer' might actually taste like if it were real....but the lemon makes it very nice.

I stole this from bittenbybooks.com just in time for Halloween. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm dying to!
Urban Fantasy Bartender: Carole Nelson Douglas “Cocktails invented to match books? Delilah Street, paranormal investigator, made me do it!! Now you can enjoy Delilah’s sexy signature blood thirsty drinks: Albino Vampire Cocktail, Brimstone Kiss Cocktail and Vampire Sunrise!!”
The Albino Vampire Cocktail 1 jigger of white Crème de Cocoa 1 jigger of vanilla Stolichnaya 1 jigger of Lady Godiva white chocolate liqueur Chambord raspberry liqueur
Layer the first three ingredients in a martini glass in this order: Crème de Cocoa, vanilla vodka, finally the white chocolate liqueur. Drop in a dollop of the Chambord. Don’t mix or stir. The Chambord will sink to the bottom, so the white cocktail has a blood-red base (which adds a nice kick at the end.)
The Brimstone Kiss Cocktail * 2 jiggers Inferno Pepper Pot vodka * 1 jigger DeKuyper "Hot Damn!" Hot Cinnamon Schnapps * 2 jiggers Alize Red Passion * jalapeño pepper slice (optional) * 2 ounces Champagne (for second version)
Version 1: Pour all ingredients into a martini shaker with ice. Shake gently. Pour into a martini glass garnished with jalapeno pepper slice. A hell of a drink!
Version 2: Pour all ingredients into a tall footed glass filled with ice. Stir well. Top off with two ounces of your favorite Champagne. A perfect frothy but potent brunch libation that might lead to pleasant damnation.
The Vampire Sunrise Cocktail * 6 ice cubes * 1 1/2 oz. of pepper vodka * 1/2 oz. DeKuyper "Hot Damn!" Hot Cinnamon Schnapps * 4-5 oz. orange juice, well shaken * 1 oz. Alizé Gold Passion orange cognac * 1/2-1 oz. grenadine
Put ice cubes in 12 ounce highball glass. Pour in pepper vodka and cinnamon schnapps, add orange juice to fill to desired level. Add two ounces of orange cognac. Last, pour in grenadine, which will settle to the bottom. Add ice to drink as it melts, creating a longer and more sensual experience. This drink is no hit-and-run vampire bite.
Someone really needs to invent some Zodiac cocktails!!

Tell me about it. i should be an 'agent' by now or better for as long as I've been around, but real life has been in my way for some time. Glad to be back at the bar.

OK- never reported back that the 'brimstone kiss' rocks! Too many ingredients for me to keep on hand all the time but a fine special occasion sort of thing. Veeeery tasty.
With summer on us. please post your favorite quencher for by the pool, at the beach, sitting with your feet in a tin tub, anything.
My summer fave for this year is just about anything with Limoncello. You can through that stuff in cough syrup and make it drinkable. Right now I like a bit of Ice tea, limoncello and soda on the rocks. Very refreshing and festive.

I do the Limoncello and iced tea thing too! It's awesome! I've started using a little shortcut for my margaritas when I don't feel like muddling and juicing a bunch of limes. I use a can of frozen limeade made a little stronger than the directions call for (less water). You can play around with the percentages, but I use 1 part tequila, 1 part Grand Marnier, 4 parts limeade. Tasty and quick!

Let me say that I need this thread because I am the most clueless person as far as cocktails. Every year I go with my husband to his ER Cmas party and have NO CLUE what to order. Someone told me to try a Fuzzy Navel but it just tasted like OJ with a little alcohol in it. I am SO unhip. Last year we sat next to, are you ready? A couple who were BORN the year I graduated from high school. OMG so, by time Cmas rolls around you all better make me hip to the bar scene. LOL

You could go to the beginning of the thread an make a list of everything you need that is posted here. Then just drink your way through it. If you survive, then you will know what you like.
Just remember Friends don't let friends trink and dype.

BAHAHAHAHa I was thinking about you guys last night. My husband and I went to get some wine, and he asked if I wanted to pick something up for another night and I wish I'd had an iphone or something to look up this thread while I was in the store. If it's okay I might just try ONE new drink at a time. LOL I do want to live.

I know, I missed it. The kids left for my inlaws and Chuck and I were alone. Yes, ALONE. Damn. We realized we hadn't had a kid break since last summer. Things just kept getting in the way, and to have all three gone at the same time is not an easy thing. LOL

Ya know, I've never had a Jello shot. Do you eat it just like Jello, or suck it down like a shot?
