Wasn't Numfar Lorne's cousin?
All ferrets do the dance of Joy. We also refer to it at our house as the humpy back tippy toe dance of joy. My ferret, Spike, used to terrorize our Siberian Husky. The dog would quiver and run for the patio door every time we opened the ferret cage to let Spike out. Sixty-five lbs. of quivering jelly, what a wimp!

Actually, I think Lorne and Numfar are brothers. You do know why they decided to name Lorne, Lorne right?

That's right. When they decided to make him a regular, they needed to give him a name. He was originally just called the host. someone said well he's green, let's call him Lorne.

You're right about the dance of joy and it's a hoot to watch. That's funny about your dog being afraid of Spike. We had a one-armed friend who was sitting on the floor watching tv once and our ferret Piggy took a flying leap at his stump. (super ferret w/o the cape) Scared the crap out of the friend.

I need to get a ferret and name him Numfar.
I liked Angel when he got the ability to see himself in mirrors in Lornes dimmension. My hair, does it always look like that?

Those were definitely some of the best episodes. I was a little on the fence about the show until it got to that point.

One of the many things I do like about Joss Wheadon's work is his ability to change the tone of a show in a nano second.
One minute everything is dark, scary and edgy and the next thing you know it's LOL time. He never let's his shows get to full of themselves. He will often pull out and let the show sort of laugh at itself.
An example of this is when Angel got turned into a muppet. Oh man that was just too funny. I also liked the Buffy musical episode. It was great.

Vamp, I think you hit it right on the head. I often got those "What DOES go on in this man's head??" moments, but then I was right there with him. When I think about Buffy eps like Hush and then the musical...damn, that's talent.

I think it's the secret of his success. Doing stuff like that has many benefits. It keeps a show from getting stale. It also gives the cast more chances to show off a wider range of skills than they'd usually get. Stuff like that keeps an audience coming back. too bad we never got to the musical Fire Fly epi.
