Numfar was a minor character played by Joss Whedon in a couple episodes of Angle. He was always being told to different dances to convey the mood of the family. "Numfar! Do the dance of Joy!" was one of them.

Thanks for clearing that up for me...sounds funny. I don't watch many shows--too busy reading or writing and now frequenting this board. =)

Well until you are caught up on all things Whedon, we may have to suspend your membership here. Once you have completed absorbing all things Whedon, we will administer a test. Once passed you will be allowed to resume posting here.
(yes, I am kidding)

Wow! I'm totally out of the loop on these shows. I haven't watched any of them... =( from Oct.-Jun if it's not the NHL I'm usually not watching...sad, yes, but it is what it is. (and no, I'm not Canadian) I will toddle on over to Discovery and watch Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch, if they're not interfering with my hockey. I know, I know...shameful!

I am starting to like shows like Axemen, Deadliest Catch and Ice Truckers. Right now I am watching Carrier on PBS. Being a vet of Naval Aviation, I can relate to it. Even more so since one of the squadrons on the show(VFA-94) is my old squadron. Go Shrikes!!

Hey, how cool is that! I might have to check that one out myself. I know my hubby would love it. He was never in the military but both of our dads were and several of his brothers. He loves the military channel.
nice insignia!

Here is some trivia about VA-94. When they were deployed in VietNam, th C.O. was shot down 3 times and rescued each time. They realized the bright orange stripe on the tail of the planes were a bad thing.
I got in the squadron once they returned from their last deployment to VietNam. I served under that same CO for 2 years. He was promoted and moved up the chain of command.
The series on PBS is winding down but I am sure they will play it for a while. It's really good. It tales place on th USS Nimitz during heir deployment in 2005

your CO was one lucky 'mutha'--the series sounds really good. Maybe they'll have it on the military channel too. I like to watch some of that stuff~not very girly of me, but I suppose since I've been around the military all of my life, it just seems interesting to me.

Well you wont be disappointed. There are female crew members in all aspects of the Navy from pilots to 'janitors" depicted in the series.
