;D Yay, it's finally here - CHEAT is going to see the light of day! For those of you who weren't there and haven't yet heard, I finally caught sight of the book at the RT Booklovers Convention - and it was purrrrdy! It has been a whirlwind ever since then, so I ask that you please forgive my spotty attendance for the next little bit. My deadline is darned near simultaneous, so when I'm not talking up CHEAT, I'm pounding words on book6 (got a title, anyone? ) I have a blog day scheduled over at Bitten By Books on the 25th, release day - but I'll be by here that day and in the days after to chat with you guys (or at least eavesdrop ) in the CHEAT thread. Meanwhile, I have to say that even though RT was packed with amazing readers, my Peeps are the best! You guys were the most enthusiastic and vocal group - and I know you had fun (because how could you not at RT?) -- you were with each other! What an amazing group. It was my HONOR to hang out with all of you, meet you in person, and finally get a chance to tell you all how much you mean to me. Readers are one thing ... Peeps are another. This does not mean that you're not all obnoxious, because you are. Smooches - off to pound wordage. Remember, you're forgiving my absence here. Right? Right??? Vic

And if you guys feel like spreading your happy chaos over other parts of the net, this week only Bitten By Books is hosting a chat about my series on their site. I've found that many of the BBB readers haven't yet picked the series up (my thought is they don't know from the covers how UF it is (rather than SF) and they don't realize there's a strong romantic subplot. A world with no Ben or Hunter? C'mon! What a sad, sad place! Anyway, if you want some new blood or to show your smahts, go here: bittenbybooks.com/?p=24372As always, I'm appreciative of your thoughts. Vx.

lol! Heya Vicki! Good luck with the looming deadline...remember, it's all your own fault, but as soon as it's done it's ALL done and over with at once...you'll get a chance to breath for a little! (okay, so then there'll be edits, but at least you take take a short breath!)

I am still kicking myself for not asking for a picture of just you and me so I guess I'll have to keep stalking meet up with you again! Enjoy your wordage pounding and don't forget the side project "Hunter does Cleveland"!!!

I stopped over at BBB yesterday and was horrified at the non-readers of the series. I restrained myself from saying something like "Get off your ass and get the series!!!". That seemed like it would be inappropriate. So I gushed instead.
Love those titles! LOL After everyone reads Cheat the Grave I have some good ones. *snicker*
Must tell my fan nerd moment. We were watching Supernature Season 1, and they mentioned a "tulpa" in an episode I was watching with my teens and husband. I shouted "OMG, I KNOW what a tulpa is!!" They just looked at me like I was the biggest geek EVER. BAHAHAHA

For whatever my opinion is worth, I think that gushing is an effective modus operatum on many of the literary sites like Bitten By Books -- the readership on those sites tends to be a little slow to pick up on lesser known authors but once they do, they really embrace the works and do promote it with their friends, book clubs, etc. It's a great opportunity to get the word out about this series.
I think that gushing and explaining why you really responded to a work is effective with the audience on those sites because they're looking for works to really get an emotional stake in.
Personally, I think Vicki is a genre pioneer because there really isn't anything else like what she doing out there and I think it has really strong cross-over appeal -- this series seems to be laying the foundation for a new genre subset entirely and it really deserves an extensive reading audience.
Anyway, I added my 2-cents on Bitten By Books and I'll be back on the release day to support Cheat the Grave -- these books deserve our support, they're great.

Is Vicki lesser known? It's so weird but I never think of the authors I love as being new to other people. I just assume people love them like I do. BAHAHAHAHAHA
