Any other fans of the work of Joss Whedon ?? I was never much of a comics or graphic novels fan, but Vicki's work inspired me to explore things a bit more. Somehow along the way I got swept along in the 'Buffy Season Eight' comic excitement, and now I keep the newest issues of Buffy and Angel comics on pre-order at TFAW. (The current Serenity arc is just a limited run thing, though, sigh.) The Buffy Season Eight comic is my favorite though.

I liked all of the TV shows but I've never got into the comics. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be in my bunk.

OMG! Did somebody say Buffy Season 8 comics!! I'm so loving the comic series even though I think Joss may be exhibiting a slight case of "jumping the shark" with the new sitch with Buffy and a certain member of the the slayer girl's club. Regardless, it's great to have him keeping the Buffyverse going and from what I've seen is to come (issue 16!!), I'm still pretty damn excited about it.
On another note, I just purchased the Angel box set for $70 from Amazon...what a deal!! I watched some of season 1 today and I very much miss having a show like that on TV now. Ah, Doyle and Cordy....good times.
If anyone wants to talk Buffy Season 8, I'm all up to date with issue 13 and ready to talk....

After heroes, Firefly is my all time favorite series. Too bad it was so short. When i bought my first portable DVD player, Firefly and the Serenity movie were the very first DVDs i bought for it. I especially love Summer Glau as River Tamm. It was so much fun watching her character develop. Her interaction with Jayne is priceless. "I can melt your brain."

Vampy,
There's not a character in FIREFLY that I didn't love.

Personally I couldn't get into Firefly as much...I think it's a wonderfully crafted show, and Serenity is great, but I haven't been a Western fan since I was a kid so the genre didn't quite work for me...Loved Buffy and Angel and like what little I've seen of his comics...too bad WB tends to be spiteful...the entire reason Angel was canceled was because the execs didn't want him to make any more on royalties for it than he already would...

Vampy, There's not a character in FIREFLY that I didn't love. I know what you mean, they are all great. I try to follow the actors in their new shows but none of them seem to last too long. I loved Serenity but there are a few places where I shouted out loud. i was so upset when those certain things happened.

I loved Buffy and Angel but the comics kinda irked me after a few issues. It just wasn't the same.

I think I forgot to mention Firefly in my introduction! Don't know how THAT happened! While I love the fact that it was an ensemble cast and everyone interacted so well together, I have to say Wash is my favorite.
Wash: "Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... "This Land." I think we should call it "your grave!" Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha ...
I mean, c'mon.

Seen the movie? Only about 50 times. I saw it when it was elased and Serenity was the very first DVD I ever bought. I got the companion book to.
The Serenity blow by blow was very good. I agree with just about everything he said to. Good thing Book had a clean nose.

Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha ... I mean, c'mon. Hilarious! Loved that scene. The character deaths were the only thing I disliked about the film, part of me still hopes there might be hope for more stories in this 'verse, and I'd hate to see anyone left out.

JW likes killing off his lovable supporting cast. just look at Fred and Anya. I was OK with the first death in Serenity but I was really PO'ed about the second one. you know people stare at you in a theater when you Yell "f.YOU JOSS WHEDON YOU ROTTEN SOB!!!" That one was not needed. It served no purpose except to shock the viewers.
Have you ever watched A Knight's Tale? Alan Tudyk is in it. He's funny in it as well.
