That's another one of our favorites movies. I think we have it memorized line by line. Wash and Wat are very similiar, IMO, except for Wat's violent tendencies. I haven't seen it yet, but Ive heard he's also very good in 3:10 to Yuma.

Au contraire! Wash's demise made the following battle much more terrifying. If Joss would kill off Wash, maybe he'd off Kaylee or even Mal. I didn't even realize how scared I was during that scene until I saw Serenity the second time and I knew everyone else survived, and the impact wasn't as great. So the death, while heartbreaking, was necessary to the story. So I'm sticking with the idea that the second movie will start with Mal in the shower realizing it was all a horrible dream so we can have Wash and Book back!

I don't think there will ever be another one. I'd love to see another one. I love the fact that River got all better and I'd love to see how things work out for her and Simon now that aren't fugitives anymore.
Would they stay with Serenity or go back to their lives? If they did leave, who would replace them?
Will Mal and Inara ever see the light and hook up?
If Simon left would Kaylee go to? I think she'd stay with the ship as long as it's flying she'll be there. She loves the ship even more than Simon.
Zoe has always been loyal to Mal. No matter what happens she will always be by his side to the end.
If it were up to me, they'd all stay with the ship. having exposed the Miranda cover up, they'd be famous and find jobs of any kind would not be a problem.
This is good because their new found fame will make shady jobs much harder to do but not impossible.
River would serve to back up Jayne in fights and also do most of the flying. Her skills would make things a lot easier for Mal as well. It's really hard to lie when someone is in your head.
Simon would stay to watch over Rver even though she doesn't need it. He'd also stay for Kaylee. He'd realize there is more to life than being a rich doctor and would find his happiness on Serenity.

I think I forgot to mention Firefly in my introduction! Don't know how THAT happened! While I love the fact that it was an ensemble cast and everyone interacted so well together, I have to say Wash is my favorite. Wash: "Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... "This Land." I think we should call it "your grave!" Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha ... I mean, c'mon. OMG, you just quoted a show verbatim. Are you sure you're not a man?

I love how the film makers get you to root for the bad guy. I love how everyone in the film has at least five reasons to kill the guy next to him. I love how the good guys vs. the bad guys plays out morally. I love that it's a western. And it doesn't hurt that Russell Crowe smoulders.

That was one of the greatest character introductions ever. It showed how boring it was for Wash to be left on the ship while most of the crew was out doing the missions. It showed how he coped with the boredom and stress and was just so funny. At that time the only other person on the ship was Kaylee. She'd be all the way to the rear in the engine room. Inara was off ship making the big bucks. I'll be in my bunk.

I think 50% of our conversations are just movie, TV show and Broadway musical quotes.

Firefly is PERFECTION!!!
I am a complete Firefly nerd - I even have 3 supercool Firefly t shirts. The best one has a Buddha and says "Dear Buddha, please bring me a pony and a plastic rocket"
"I aim to misbehave."

Of course, it was me that gave it to her.
