Charlaine's agent saw a TruBlood DELIVERY truck on a street in NYC. Now that is taking the advertising campaign to the next level. HBO is behind this show in a big way. Guess they need something to take over where the Sopranos left off. There's big money in Vampires these days, especially DVDs and merchandising.

Showtime did a similar thing with their Dexter series. The first season followed the first book fairly well in the beginning then started off changing a few minor details. The biggest thing was a couple of characters died or were mutilated in the first books, survived the first season of the series.
Second season was totally different but the characters were still pretty close to the books conception of them. It was still very good.
I imagine the True Blood series will be like that.
OO OO OOOO!! I just saw mt first TRE BLOOD promo in a collage of "Coming this fall" trailer.
Anna P looked very Sookie to me. Bill looked good to. I'm more excited than ever now. I also know I made the right decision switching to HBO.

Gee, wouldn't you know I would find this out AFTER Vampyre switched to HBO! true-blood.net reports that each full episode of TB will be available for download on I-TUNES shortly after airing on HBO. Sorry , Vampy!

Well, that assumes you have access to play I-tunes...

I don't mess with i-Tunes. I'd rather see it on my TV. The only think I'll miss from Showtime is Dexter but I may be able to watch it on line or through Netflix anyway. HBO just has so many more movies that I want to see anyway. I'm not sorrry I switched.

Thanks. Those are AWESOME! I'm really glad that Anna Paquin went blonde for the Sookie role. I hate when stars don't adhere to the proper hair color of a character and get away with it just because they're established stars. (like Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard movie)

Generation Kill looks great to. I have to say HBO does produce quality work. I watched Rome on DVD and was very impressed with it. With that in mind, I think True Blood is gonna rock!

Skitty, William Sanderson, late of Deadwood fame, will be playing Sheriff Bud Dearborn in True Blood.
I have just adored his characterizations since I first saw him as Larry of Larry, Darryl, and Darryl.

William Sanderson is great! He is so good at being weasely (which is altogether different than being a Weasley, for which one needs red hair....). Thanks Deb!

I have so many shows stored on my DVR since I got HBO, I'll never get them all watched. I am running out of room. I've watched more on HBO this week than I did on showtime in the last two months. It sure will be nice when the new fall season kicks off and all of our favorite shows are back. I really miss Heroes and I can hardly wait to see my first True Blood. I think Charlain's book sales will go off the charts after all the new people see it. I hope she shares her nerw found wealth with you Debster. I thijk she's about to become very wealthy.

One would hope, maybe I'll get a raise? She did quite well selling the rights to Alan Ball and since HBO picked it up I believe she will get more $$. Of course this is the second time she has sold the rights to this series, the first time it was for a possible movie with a much younger Reese Witherspoon as Sookie...that fell through and the rights reverted back to her. There were 2 offers already on the table when Alan Ball's came in...she liked his idea so the rest is history.
