Firefox has been freezing up on me all day and since my msn browser isn't compatible with Vista and I don't like IE, I decided to download Google Chrome (like Tiff likes). I think I'm liking it! the download was fast and it imported all my bookmarks from firefox and it's very basic so there's not a bunch of b.s. to have to maneuver around. Can open multi tabs windows which I do cuz I don't like going back and forth between sites (I just have 2 or 3 open at the same time). I just might like this! Thanks, Tiff!

That's what Ryan loaded on my desktop since I have Vista. Took a little getting used to, but it doesn't freeze up like the laptop does.

I don't trust Google...they've had some issues with personal privacy...heck, the owner's girlfriend was in charge of the DNA mapping project and was discovered to have shared that with him...they've also openly admitted to courting government branches with the information they collect about the data you search...they already boast they know more about America's health than the CDC...

Well they probably do, I don't have much faith in the CDC. Well it's too late for me now, I've been using google as a search engine for years.

Hey guys. I'm thinking of possibly investing in a GPS navigator device for my car. I'm pretty clueless here.
Any advice/recommendations for a penny pinching technophobe?

well, my friend and i used her dads magellan when we went to cinncy, but it was not the BEST. if you were in a section where there were a few roads, it took a while to figure out what road you were really on and give you accurate directions. and EVERYTIME the freeway merged with another freeway or whatever (but you still stay going on exactly the same part, no turn offs nothing) it would tell you about it. but, i think that may be something that all of them do. so that being the case, ask friends which one they think is best and check out consumer reports on them.

Bought wifey this for Christmas: www.amazon.com/TomTom-140-S-3-5-Inch-Portable-Navigator/dp/B001VEJEG0She is thoroughly happy with it. We got the Tom Tom simply because her dad has had one for years, it never fails him, and he even uses it when he goes to England. It even knew all the roads in the Lake District there. You can download different voices for it, currently Im trying to get her to go for the Mr T voice

I have a TomTom and I love it. The most popular ones we sell are TomTom and Garmin brands, I think Garmins are a bit overpriced. TomTom guarantees the most updated maps and they have cool features like lots of free downloadable voices, wallpapers, and little car icons. If screen size isn't important to you, you can save $$ by going with a smaller screen, but don't skimp and get one without Text-To-Speech. All GPS will talk to you, but those without text-to-speech will say (i.e) "Turn left in 50 feet". Those with TTS will say, "Turn left ON MAIN ST in 50 feet". Saying the street name out loud means you don't have to look down at it so often.

While browsing Failbook, a Malware notice came up and my Firewall asked me if I wanted to quarantine, so I said yes. I continued to view Failbook pages and talk on Skype. However, I was unable to view any other webpages. My IE is now dead. I get a "Internet Explorer is unable to display this webpage" message. No, I do not have Firefox. Yes, having Vista sucks. It's not internet connectivity, as I can still talk on Skype and IE is working on my Guest setting. Any ideas on how to fix this? All my favorites are on my main setting and I don't want to leave this if there's a problem.
