I'm such a girlie girl when it comes to drinking. I hate the taste to alcohol. So I drink sweet girlie drinks but my favorite is the chocolate cherry bomb
equal parts white creme de cacao, grenadine syrup, cream. Tastes like a chocolate covered cherry.
At home I just crush cherries in with Kahlua and that's pretty good too.

Wow Mouse that is a sweet one! Though it sounds tasty. Here's one you may like, along those lines. The chocolate martini. Equal parts creme de cocoa white (the clear one) and vodka. It looks just like a martini but tastes oh so sweet. A good faker for those 'grown up' type gatherings. My husband, the Gin martini purest, says I'm a girlie with this drink as well. lv

I had one of those once. Yeah it was on my 21st birthday. I loved it! My fiance calls me a cheap date because it took like 2 of those and I was out.

Had this one at the Four Season NY. It was VERY tasty but it was clearly a 'faker' martini. So I like the simpler version for the clear factor. s

I believe someone mentioned Cosmos? Much better than the ones with Cointreau, IMO
In a cocktail shaker, combine with ice: 2 oz vodka 1 oz Rose's lime juice 1 oz triple sec anywhere from a splash to 2 oz cranberry juice, depending on your preference
Mix well and pour into a glass. Add a slice of lime for garnish and enjoy!

Sounds fab..must try! My Mom's new fave after returning from a trip to Italy...a lemon liquour, I guess. It's called Limoncello. There are a few ways to enjoy it, but my mom's fave is a shot of the stuff over ice with 2 shots cream. Gotta say..it's pretty good...not my fave but good.

Sounds fab..must try! My Mom's new fave after returning from a trip to Italy...a lemon liquour, I guess. It's called Limoncello. There are a few ways to enjoy it, but my mom's fave is a shot of the stuff over ice with 2 shots cream. Gotta say..it's pretty good...not my fave but good. here's a recipe for making your own limoncello~haven't made it but it sounds good. Limoncello 10 lemons 1 (750ml) bottle vodka 3 1/2 cups water 2 1/2 cups sugar using a vegetable peeler, remove the peel from the lemons in long strips (keep lemons for another use). Then w/small knife, trim away the white pith from the peels and discard. Place the peels in a 2qt. pitcher. Pour the vodka over the peels and cover w/plastic wrap. Steep peels in vodka for 4 days @ room temp. Stir water and sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat until sugar is dissolved completely. Pour the sugar syrup over the vodka mixture. Cover and let stand @ room temp. overnight. Strain the limoncello through a mesh strainer. Discard the peels. Transfer to bottles; seal and refrigerate until cold (at least 4 hours and up to 1 month). OR~if you can find it, buy a bottle and just enjoy~

Okay this one doesn't have any alcohol in it and it's kind of a traditional drink in the south with my little touch.
During the summer I crave lemonade.
Strawberry Cherry Lemonade
10 strawberries; destemed 1 pk cherry cool aide 1 c sugar 1 c lemon juice 2 qt water
Blend strawberries, cool aide, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender.
Pour mixture in to water stirring until dissolved.
Pour into glass over ice
A nice summer drink.

I had a great Cosmo last Friday when we were out celebrating my father-in-laws birthday. A little place called Tony's on Main in St. Charles, MO. It was so smooth I didn't even realize I was getting buzzed until I had to get up and take my little girl to the restroom. WOW! I only needed one and didn't bother asking what vodka they used, but I think it was Three Olives or something to that effect. My steak was fabulous also. ; )

Miki, Thanks for the limoncello recipe. My neighbor has more lemons than she can count. I may have to try it. Mouse, another yummy sounding drink. I think I'll cut the sugar in half though. I'm more of a sour than a sweet person. (no comments from the gallery please) DG, have you tried the Cosmo recipe posted by Ailishsmom, above? Very tasty. s
