LOL its funny how you say Hunter and Jolivia need tweaking
But I never really thought about Kimber - in Tater Tot ... she was as you say using her charisma and being actually a right annoying little bitch - just with everything else that was going on I found her mild in comparison to my fav Regan lol oh and Jo an Hunter getting it on..... I am seriously gonna re-read.

Ok.. Favourites: Vanessa (would love to learn more of her!) She's level headed, smart, cool conduit, great job for the hero business. And was the most welcoming of Jo at the start. More Vanessa please!! The comic book store kids; and Zane tossed in with them. I think their story might be as important as the Zodiac's. And as interesting! I'm sorry folks but Jo herself comes in at third place in my list. Some of her actions make my back teeth hurt. And I know you Ladies are Hunter fans all the way, but he's no Capt. Kirk. In no way do I think he's shadow, but I also can't warm up to him. I guess maybe because he's that guy I grewup disliking.

LMAO @ "he's no Capt. Kirk." That's funny. I like that you can say you don't think he's Shadow, you just don't like him. He's brain candy for us ladies, see. He's superdelicious.
I like Vanessa too. I think there's alot there. Do you have a favorite male character, Grom?

As for a fav male char. I have a few. I like Gregor a lot. In my mind he's the toughest of em all. One-handed and he still kicks butt. Shadows know who he is, and he still roams the city by himself. Has the best conduit as well. Felix is one I like alot too. Comes off as a good-time fratboy at times, but has a heart of gold. After reading Harvest, I thought I might warm up to Warren... Didn't happen... Guy's a jerk. I know Hunter is you ladies Brain candy... Us guys had ours for a while... Olivia and Cher... But that's been toned down...

Interesting topic because "least favorite" can be taken a few ways -- such as the villan, who is my least favorite character. But as bad as Regan, Tulpa and particularly Solange are, they do make for great reading so they can't be my least favorite because something interesting happens every time they show up and I love that.
So, for the sake of a dialogue I'll name my "least favorite" to be the character who I think doesn't contribute much to the larger arc or even immediate action and in my book, that's Xavier and I'm glad he's dead because he was deadweight.
It was nice to know that he truly loved Olivia but since that was his only redeeming quality, he really wasn't much fun to read about.
Zane risked being boring too until we found out about his situation and now he's really interesting to me.
Mackie annoys me -- what's his deal anyway? I think Mackie might have replaced Xavier in my estimation as least favorite.
Anyone else?

Something intrigues me about Mackie because I think there's more there. Xavier is a fucktard. Thing is he's vital to everything. He's the key to it all when you think about it. He's the Tulpa's link to the mortal world. So he's more than deadweight and he does contribute much, at least in the first few books. He's a very important character, even if he only needs to be in the background. But I do hates him with the fire of a thousand suns. I pee on his grave.

Mackie was stronger than the others, as dense and tough as jerky, almost petrified from living so long in a room that was also a kiln. No wonder he had no conscience. His brain was probably as rotted as the meat of a walnut. Then again, maybe it's just the leathery skin and nut-sized brain that speaks to my inner paleontologist... Mackie might be a real, live humanaptor (human-raptor hybrid). Although I don't know that he's as stupid as he might seem -- he's smart enough to compose those macabre librettos every time someone enters the saloon. I am curious about him too.

So this is my first post here. Yay! Anyways, after reading City of Souls (no spoilers here), I'm hating Hunter with a passion and Warren too. It's like he's studied on German Effeciency.
But for favorites, I love Cher and her mother. I also love Reagan and the Tulpa. I love good villains.

I love a well-constructed villan too -- and considering Warren and Hunter's behavior in City of Souls, are we still sure that they're not villans just because they're on the side of Light? If nothing else, they were able to get a huge rise out of me so in the sense that I like a character who makes me feel, then I love both Warren and Hunter. Mackie, I still don't get.

Well, I don't think you'll find too much dispute around here that Warren is a villain, no matter which side he's on...as for Hunter, well, good luck trying to get the ladies to agree...I've been telling them that for a while now!

LMBO. What can I say, we womenfolk are suckers for broken bad boys who look good naked and who have moves that are illegal in certain states. Think of him as a male Megan Fox appealing to our baser female selves -- we know better than to give him a break but we just can't help ourselves (he's so friggin hawt). Seriously though, the points you made about Hunter using Jo for his own ends are absolutely valid. You're also right, there are some betrayals that are unrepairable. I do think Hunter is redeemable but I don't think redemption comes with absolution, rather I see it as a rebirth and redefinition. Then again, Hunter's been given a few second chances already (Solange let him live as a child, Warren let him remain in the troop) and he's blown those ... maybe his fate is to be tragic and maybe that's why he's one of my favorites -- I may be an optimist but I'm a sucker for real gut wrenching tragedy and Hunter is certainly good for that.

Hey, Megan might be hot, but apparently she doesn't even know the crew exists, that's a complete turnoff to me...having been one of the little people, I can't stand those who take them for granted...
Can he have a rebirth? He might even deserve it (though he has blown two so far as you point out)...but I don't think he deserves Jolivia, and I don't think she deserves to have to put up with waiting for him to shape up...
