Kinda like watching grass grow. You know it's happening but you just can't quite see it.

At least with grass you know it's growing...they claim Dancing With Dragons was completed in 2005 when Crows was yet it's taken 6 years to come out instead of the one they said it would?

I want to watch this show it sounds very good. are these books? It's a series of books called A Song of Fire and Ice, and they are not a light undertaking Be warned, once you start, you won't be able to stop en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Song_of_Ice_and_FireThe first book is Game of Thrones. The miniseries plan is to do one series/book, so Game of Thrones on HBO should be 10 shows, starting on Apr17.

Well I will probably read as many as I can before watching the series, I don't mind waiting. I don't have a lot of faith in HBO after the True Blood path.

Don't judge HBO on what Alan Ball has done to True Blood. They have many fine shows under their belt like Rome, The Tudors and Hung. OK I'm kidding about Hung.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so they might be able to get most of the first book in 10 hours.

HBO shows have been sucking bad since the Sopranos and Six Feet Under went away. The only thing left was Big Love, and now its gone too. HBO has been totally outclassed by the Showtime shows for past 2-3 years now. What GoT does have going for it (at least as far as I can see) is that Martin has stated that the show is closely following the book and the guys billed as the 'creators' haven't done any of the HBO shows before (that I know of). So that's good Whats bad is that those same two guys have done movies before that I thought were pretty damn cheesy bad and they have also decided to 'create' the Dothraki language and subtitle it. I'm not a big fan of this and it is something that is hard to make work well in a movie. Off the top of my head I cant really think of one where it added value, but then again I just flew in from South Carolina so I might be a little off lol Yes DL, Im not sure how they will fit it into 10 hours, but I'll give them them this. At least they aren't trying to do all the books in 10 hours lol

Well. I am good to go. I have HBO again and have GoT set to record. Let the Games begin!

WHILE watching Chuck tonight there was a reference to "Game of Thrones"
He was reading a book while eating breakfast and mutters, "Oh Eddar. letting your kids keep dire wolves. That's a terrible idea."

I think I read all 4 books in about a week's time total...of course that's pretty much all I did when I was reading them and staying up till 2 and 3 am.

I'm ready for HBO to take the leap and become on online streaming subscription model. Must see this. Guess I'll have to read the books!

So, about 8 showings/day since it started. I'm guessing HBO really wants to recover from their lack of programming I think I've watched it about 3 times now during the week lol

It's a bit of over kill I think. It's on as much as the CSI reruns. I watched it 3 times the first night.
