I just saw this movie and it got me thinking about things. If you have not seen the movie, there will be spoilers here. Go watch it and come back.......OK ready?
There is one major thing I found odd about all the versions of this story that I have seen. In everyone, it is always the wife that pushes the damn button. Why is that?
Most of you all are women do you think the original author was being sexist by having the wife push the button instead of the husband?
I know I'd probably not push it. My exsisterinlaw would have pushed it as soon as Steward set t on the table. Twenty four hours? Screw that 25 microseconds would be all she needed.
Then the part where they say shoot the wife to save the kid, she'd shoot my brother and buy the kid a puppy.
My take on the shoot the wife part was pay back for pushing the button. If the husband pushed it, he'd be getting the bullet to the heart. Of course men never push it.
