"And why are you asking for snail mail addy if it's an e-ARC?"
I was so excited ... I didn't even notice that! LMAO!
I say we cut Vicki some slack....e-ARCs is new stuff!

I was wondering about that too, lol! But I send my snail mail addy anyway; I wasn't gonna argue (even if I was uber late *whimpers*)! And my pathetic desperation to have a CTG ARC aside, I think it's pretty cute how easy she tries to make it for us!

I think it's pretty cute how easy she tries to make it for us! She's too busy to make it any harder. All her time and effort goes into the books! My evil streak comes out in the contests. Hers comes out in the books.

Vamps - bad news. Not Kindle friendly because they don't use DMR...but you can dl it onto your computer, save as a PDF and read that way, right?
Oh, and I was a total sucker. Everyone who wrote in for one got one. What the hell kind of contest is that anyway? *shaking head* I'm a softie, man ...
In other news, I'm going crazy with deadline and release and RL stuff. (Whose idea was it to have a deadline and a release at the same time, btw? Because I feel like kicking that person's butt! Except ... it might be mine. Grrr.) But that's not really news, is it? So, sorry for being spotty around here. I'll pop up more in the next few weeks w/release info, and of course to chat in the spoiler section about CHEAT. I can't wait to get this book into all of your hands!
Something I'm really excited about: concurrent with the release of CHEAT, Harper is going to be offering THE SCENT OF SHADOWS up as a free e-book. So that's great to give to readers who haven't yet found the series and want to give it a spin. It'll also have a bonus section -- chs. 1-3 of CHEAT THE GRAVE at the back of that dl, and all of that will be out the last week of April/first week of May.
Then, the Thursday before CHEAT is on-sale, they'll release Chapter 4, so readers can start reading from there when their pre-orders arrive. All very exciting because I *finally* get to hand this over to you guys!
Oh, and a week before the on-sale, Harper will also have some of CHEAT THE GRAVE up on their site for those of you who wish to pop on and read that way. They're also sending copies with me to ROMANTIC TIMES book festival, but we're not sure yet if they'll be the real hard copies yet, or the e-ARCs. It's cutting it tight, and the printers still have to do their work.
And here's a sheepish admission: I'm only now getting a newsletter going. Yes, after four years. Why? Because I hate this idea of bombarding readers' inboxes, and I only really have something to say a couple times a year. ("Jo is back!") But I've found a format I'm comfortable with, an actual letter rather than something that screams 'Promo! Promo! Promo!' because I hate that. When it hits the inboxes, you guys can tell me what you think.
Okay, off to do bills. Tres exciting. ;-)
Smooches, mah Peeps!

Because I'm sending you the card/ARC - signed - and there's a PIN number on the back of it that'll retrieve your dl at the Harper site. Kosher? "And why are you asking for snail mail addy if it's an e-ARC?"I was so excited ... I didn't even notice that! LMAO! I say we cut Vicki some slack....e-ARCs is new stuff!

*thud*!!!! How come Harper is being so generous with the ARCs this year? ? (I'm so not complaining, btw!) Good luck with the deadline, Vic. I know exactly how you feel; I'm spazing with all the school stuff I have to do. *hugs* Yay for the newsletter!

Oh wow! Very cool Vicki and thanks to you and your bosses. Lots going on for you, take it easy and kick your feet up every once in a while....or lock herself in the bathroom with a good meditation excuse! Works for me and yes, I HAVE to lock the door; my child has still has no concept of privacy except when it's hers!

Very cool! Well, except for the deadline and release at the same time...though the benefit there is you should be getting everything out of the way at once and have time for some you time!

Harper is aces in my book...they literally saved RT for a lot of people last year. We were very disappointed with the scarcity of the book giveaways last year, UNTIL the Harper/Avon cocktail party where they generously gave away ARCs and hard cover books of eight different authors (Vicki, Jeaniene, Jocelynn Drake, Melissa Marr-mind skips over the others-sorry) and gave us real cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. It was one of the highlights of the whole week.

Yes that was a nice one. I think I remembering squealing or something when we saw Vick's ARC when we first walked in. and even though I'm not a big drinker, I think I remember double-handing cocktails at some point.

I think because it costs less to send out e-ARCs than fully printed versions. So more to go around! Not everyone loves to read on screen, though (like me) so they'll have to wait. But I dl'd one yesterday and it's pretty cool. Ebooks are definitely the train OVERTAKING the tunnel. *thud*!!!! How come Harper is being so generous with the ARCs this year? ? (I'm so not complaining, btw!) Good luck with the deadline, Vic. I know exactly how you feel; I'm spazing with all the school stuff I have to do. *hugs* Yay for the newsletter!
