Anyone watching them?
My favorite part last night was the Koreans taking themselves out of the 1500m short track speed skating, They has 1, 2, and 3 locked up for a clean sweep, Apollo Ono(USA) and a Canadian were 4 and 5 with virtually no chance of moving up when the number 3 Korean crashed into the number 2 while trying to pass on the inside. I'd not want to be either of them right now.

Yep, loved that too. But it was another American right behind Apollo so we got silver and bronze. Too cool. And an American won gold in the women's moguls skiing.

They were making such a fuss about the Canadian guy, I though he got bronze. Cool wtg USA.
Loved the Moguls too. I felt really bad for the ones that fell down. Still the poor Japanese girl's fall was kinda funny.

Of course they are going to make a big fuss out of the Canadian guy, the games are in Canadia! - Bob Costas was on when I had a chance to watch, and frankly...well. Lets just say I found something else to do. Then this morning there was nothing on at all. WTB a different Olympic network, perhaps one that has a clue maybe?

The one thing I was looking forward to is finally over and it was great. Shaun White's snowboarding on Wednesday night was just amazing. I don't think anyone came close to him and that was before he went all out to do his new trick.
Another amazing thing I saw was the female cross country skier that fell into a ditch and got hurt. She came back to get first place in the qualifier but had to drop out of the event because she had 4 broken ribs from the fall.
A sad moment for me was when Lindsey Vonn caught her tip and crashed in the second part of the combined event. She would have had a second medal for sure I think if that hadn't have happened.
Overall, I am really enjoying the Olympics this time around. I'm of course rooting for USA but I still like seeing people do well and finally seeing their years of hard work and sacrifice play out.
I have noticed a big difference in the way some countries approach the Olympics. It seems like the athletes from the USA or Canada are there for the pure joy of the competition and achieving their life's goal.
Athletes from countries like China and Korea seem to lack this joy. It seems to be more of a task for them. Almost like a military drill and no fun at all. I feel bad for them especially when they don't do well.

Agree with everything you just said. In fat, Im watching this Curling thing for the first time. Its, um...different lol You are right about the seeming differences in emotions I'm noticing between the different countries, but then I see that in the summer Olympics also.
Has anyone seen that ATT commercial with the snowboarder and Lou Reed's Perfect Day music in the background? I wonder if the person who greenlighted that knows that song is about heroin? hehehe

I watched some curling on MSNBC and in a word, *snore*. There is one women's team that has a member that's 5 months pregnent. Curling is a sport(?) that even I could be good at.
I prefer the faster sports that I know would kill me if I tried them.

The problem is they've been playing WAY too much curling...5 hours one day 4 hours the next??? Yeah. NBC has failed in Olympic programming for...well, as long as I can remember. However, short track speed skating is on now!

Short track Speed skating is very cool. Apollo did well. Too bad he slipped but he still took the bronze. The announcer said something about their being 2 more speed skating events? Is there a possibility of him coming away with 2 more medals? That would be so cool.

How're we doing for total medal count? I know I could look it up online, but I'm lazy, and probably not the only one here as well

Is there a possibility of him coming away with 2 more medals? That would be so cool. Yep, he has two more races. I don't know what they are, but my guess is that they are the relay's. Did you see his interview afterward? You could tell he really wanted that back. He thought he had it won and so did I. Watching the skicross thing and bobsled today. Am I the only one that is wondering why in sam hell the bobsled guys are wearing the skin-tight outfits? A couple of them guys are um... well, probably should be wearing black lol. Funny thing about the medal count. Canadia basically has been going full bore to out medal everyone in the games, while the US wasn't expected to do very much at all. hmmmmm.

Just goes to show you that if you show up to just party, get laid and have a good time, you'll do much better in your events. I know what you mean about the bob sledders. makes me look forward to the women's event. I agree about Apollo. He really would have liked a do over. He didn't want to sound greedy or ungrateful I guess.

I just don't "get" curling. It looks like something I could do...except for the part that it is done on ice (ugh too cold) and you have to use a broom(i am allergic to housekeeping tools LOL!). I could slide the stone I suppose. Naaaah...not my cuppa.
Tight clothing less likely to snag when hopping into the sleds. Some of them are quite portly gentlemen....especially the guy from the US...He and his partner look like two rednecks that made their way to the bobsled track by way of the buffet and bar. I really shouldn't talk...I'd look horrible in that outfit myself.
A lot of the skaters train in Milwaukee. Andy Gabel , who is doing the commentary, used to work with my hubby while he was in training here. A lot of the area companies give the athletes part time jobs to help with their living expenses. Steve got to actually hold Andy's silver medal from the "94 Lillehammer games.
