I checked the Waldenbooks by me yesterday as well. They didn't have, the person I asked didn't know it was coming out!! I swear!! The folk they get working in some of these stores!! So today I drove into downtown Louisville and hit Borders (Who owns Waldens!) and found it first thing!! I started doing a happy dance there at the shelves when I saw it had come out in paperback!! WooHoo!!! The rest of the folk in Borders must have thought I was bonkers x 4. Now I'm a bit sorry I started rereading Tanya Huff's 'Valor" series. Though I am a major fan of that series as well. So I'm sorry Vicki, but I have three of her books to read, the a reread of the Zodiac before I get to read the new one of yours. If it makes ya feel better... I keep looking at the cover and pondering the tale it tells.... (or is that just creepy???) I picked up a ticket to go see the Moody Blues at the same time, and put the ticket in CoS... That way I have a deadline for getting to it. I can't wait!! ;D

*sighs* alas, all the stores around here haven't gotten it in yet ... I'm hoping it'll be in my shipment while I go through it in the morning. then I can snag my copy, though it'll have to wait for another couple hundred pages of Kushiel's Dart. I had work this morning, so I missed the interview, but I have the page open and loading. sadly, I'll have to miss tomorrow's interview too, since, again, I'll be at work.

Just do what Vicki does when she's trying to work, give the kid a shot. It'll knock 'em right out. Just kidding She doesn't really do that, I think.

Well, teething's a great time for it, s long as the little one doesn't start getting fevers...my little Hunter was up to 101 last night...he's doing better today though... Oh, and slight correction, I'm reading Prey, not Pride...same series, newest book

I was wondering about that but I wasn't sure if you meant Prey. I hope lil Hunter gets better soon. It must be really hard when your child is not feeling their best.

Didn't really want to start a new thread, so I stuck this here. Another author just recently said on their blog that online book sales don't count toward the NYT best seller list. Is this true?? Only sales in the brick and mortar stores count? I find this incredibly hard to believe in this day and age. Personally, I'm about 45 minutes from a decent book store and can usually find only 1 out of 3 books I'm looking for. 99.9% of the books I buy are bought online. I wanna help my authors out here. Who knows the real scoop?

I don't know for sure but Kim has always told me that pre-orders from places like Amazon always helped her.

Who knows the real scoop? Found this from the NTY Books faq: How are the best-seller lists tabulated? Rankings reflect sales at almost 4,000 bookstores plus wholesalers serving 50,000 other retailers (gift shops, department stores, newsstands, supermarkets), statistically weighted to represent all such outlets nationwide. What if I have a question about the Web site's Book section? You can e-mail your question or feedback to web-editor@nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/membercenter/faq/books.html?ref=books#booksqa4still looking for something that specifically says 'online sales', but Im thinking that onlines sales from stores like B&N and Borders that also have a storefront probably count. Then again, my friend is the forensic accountant, not me. Im just a silly engineer
