*smacks forehead* right...check the book...duh! lol Thx DL!
Reason why I asked was that I saw the artist's site, and I saw the Galenorn cover, but I didn't see CoS, so I wasn't sure if Tony Mauro was the one who did both. But since the publishing houses are the ones who put the finishes, I'm guessing it was the same base background and model, but different add-ons.

Vicki: I've read the novella and the 4 main books. In general, I love the series. I'd have a few criticisms, but I've got one that motivated me enough to voice here...I HATED the ending. Ok? I had to say it. I'll bet you a dinner at your favorite restaurant that you got a lot of hate mail over that ending. Going to another character would be really a bummer, because I think many of us want to see Joanna/Olivia develop further. I'm really hoping this is an interlude, and not jump to another character. There's a lot of time and energy invested from the reader's standpoint of how we feel about the her...and to sideline her as a standby character if you are having another party take up the main storyline is going to be, shall we say, irritating? I hope not! You're killin' me here, and I'm not the only one! June? JUNE? 6 MONTHS? Regards, VT

What makes you think she's going to another character? BTW~welcome to the boards (our humble, yet crazy, home.)

VT and Lurker --
Good. I'm glad you're so invested in Jo that you threw the book. But know that *I'm* invested too. I'd never pull a bait-and-switch at this point. This is Jo's story and series, and there are at least two more books to come.

And I know what you are saying. It is just too long between books for me for an ending like that. You need to be looking out for my psychological well being here!

Vicki:
Thanks for responding. I'm glad to hear that we can expect more from Jo. Don't take it too personally, at least not without picking up on the fact that you've done such a good job of crafting your tale that we care that much about the main character. (Note, you also do a good job of making us hate your 'black hat' characters...too...lol.) That's the real tell, and on that front, you excel. And what's a series minus controversy?
Again, thanks for answering...I did ask what your favorite books/authors were in the Other Authors thread...always curious what writers enjoy reading also.
A fond adieu for now, VT

Guys, don't forget about the anthologies she puts out there to keep us sated between full-length novels.
Everybody FREAKED after CITY OF SOULS, and justifiably so. But if peeps would just read her short in UNBOUND, things would make more sense. It eases the pain, honest.

Lurker, Believe me, I've long wished I wrote faster, but it's not to be. Each writer really does have her/his own pace, and a book a year is about all I can manage right now. Hopefully you won't throw the next one though!

VT, No worries. Like I said, I'm glad you're invested. Jo haunts me, so she should haunt you too. Only fair, right? I missed the question about other authors before. Sorry! There are the usual suspects: Kim Harrison, Armstrong, Butcher, Charlaine, J. Frost. A newbie, Kelley Gay. Richard Kadrey is a must, and I'm reading Mike Carey's Castor novels right now too. Unusual suspects: Dennis Lehane, Diana Gabaldon, Janet Fitch -- and loads of crime writers. Right now I'm into Megan Abbott and Theresa Schwegel. Really, I'm all over the place with my reading. Oddly, less in UF than you'd think. I don't know why. Vicki: Thanks for responding. I'm glad to hear that we can expect more from Jo.
