I agree totally Deathlynx!! Strazinski had a whole story planned out, and stuck to his guns. B5 could have gone another 5 years easy. It's in my top 5 shows.

Actually, B5 was plotted out for only a 5 year series...he was planning on shutting it down after that...though I REALLY would have loved Crusade to continue...in the next, unfilmed, episode was a reappearance of everyone's favorite B5 villain and a setup for the real plot arch; Excalibur vs. EarthForce renegades vs. remnants of Psi-Corp...

That show is my top of all time...While I love Joss' detailed and mutidimensional characters, they don't compare to Strazinski's thorough story arcs and character development... I totally agree. Strazinski's characters were complete and complex characters. The multitude of alien races that were created for B5 were awesome. The fact that each had their own quirks and in many cases, biases against other races made for such a rich story line. Then bring in the Shadows, the Vorlons, the Psy Corps, Londo and G'Kar.... *sigh* I could watch B5 everyday and never be bored.

Same here. Have you read any of the books? I read the trilogy that was about Bester. It went from his birth to his death and was very good. It incorporated bits from the show when ever possible.
Lyta Alexander was one of my favorite characters. Talk about someone getting screwed over time and time again. She did so much to help out and really got the short end of the stick.

Completely agree about Lyta...one of my friends online has done an amazing cosplay of her at cons...really looks dead on...I have to admit that a fair number of JMS's characters start out fairly one dimensional, but his attention to detail makes certain that they do not remain that way...And I highly reccomend picking them up so you can watch them any time you like...just watch out for the episode my wife refuses to watch... (here's a hint, it involves Marcus )

I haven't read any of the books. *face palm* Not because I don't want to but because I have so little time to read anything anymore. Oh yes... Lyta was cool. I liked her a lot. Bester was an ass but I did like him in a love-to-hate-'em sort of way. But, I have to admit Londo, G'Kar, and Marcus were my faves. (Marcus's off-hand commit about ferrets in his trousers is still one of my all-time favorites and I've been known to quote it on occasion. ;D)

Yeah, if Crusade had gone one more episode we'd have gotten to see Bester once more!

The Bester Trilogy was really good. It helped explain why he was the way he was. It also had a lot of Lyta's back story in it as well. There are several other B5 books out there but I doubt I'll ever read them. It's hard to keep up with everything else as it is.

Just call me "reviver of dead threads"... When I joined these boards today, I thought I was probably older than most people here, so I'm glad to see that there are people who remember shows from when I was a kid (and even before my time!), but I'm sad to see that nobody mentioned HR Puffenstuff...or however you spell that. I had such a crush on Jimmy!
Also remember watching Kimber the White Lion, Speed Racer, Rin Tin Tin, F Troop, Hogan's Heroes, Beverly Hillbillies, all the Hanna Barbera 'toons, the Banana Splits, the old (a lot of them now taboo) Looney Tunes, Popeye, Fat Albert, After School Specials (it's Time for Timer...his voyages through the human body always sorta gave me the creeps), Land of the Lost...and so so many others!
