Matthew Cook has to be one of my newest favorite authors. Usually I don't pick up books that have covers like his but I was given it by a friend. So I read it and wow! I was pretty impressed by his writing. One of the few guys who can write a woman well. His first book came out late last year called "Blood Magic" and his newest book is called "Nights of Sin". His books are centered around a necromancer named Kirin. She's dangerous while still being kind and sees good in places where most find gross. It's a fantastic series and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book. Warning, there is going to be some lesbianism in the second book. Though their relationship is more about loyalty and friendship rather than romance.

Geez, I've never heard of him, and he sounds wonderful. I wonder why not?
Is he shelved in SF?

I'm not sure, but more than likely. It's and easy book to read but the characters are wonderful. I should link you to one of his interviews as well. He seems like such a fun guy.
