I just saw P.S. I Love You on dvd last night. (P.S. I'm a sucker for Gerard Butler.) In case you didn't know, it's based on a book by Cecelia Ahern. It's classified as a romantic comedy and it stars Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler. *giggle* OMG It's soooo sad! No. It's TOO sad! Yes, we know he dies. This is no spoiler, no shocker. It's the main point of the movie. The chick's husband dies and he leaves her letters to receive after his death with inspiring messages, helping her to move on with her life and yadda yadda yadda... WAAAH! I totally got a case of the sniffles. Bummer. Yes, there were funny parts. But they didn't overcome the sadness. Even the cute striptease Gerry does didn't do that. Also featured Lisa Kudrow, Gina Gershon, Harry Connick Jr., James Marsters and Kathy Bates.

Well...I'll have my tissues ready then, cuz I'm gonna watch it anyway--and I'm a big cry baby--the hubby doesn't even ask what's wrong anymore, just shoves the tissues @ me with nary a word.

Yeah, I watched it with a big strong man who cried too.
Watch the deleted scenes. They're good.

Never seen that one...I can highly reccomend Coyote Ugly though...they completely screwed their marketting on that one...the ads were all hot young women dancing on bars and the like, which scares most women away, but the truth of the movie is that it's basically a great chick-flick (so of course I like it )...

I liked Coyote Ugly. I don't remember the character's name, but I thought the tough one was cool.

Deathlynx is totally right. Another marketing ploy. I should've known when I saw that Coyote Ugly was only PG-13 that it wasn'y the slutfest they portrayed in previews. Yeah, it was cute. Miki, imdb.com rocks for telling you who played what in all the movies. Here's the link for Coyote Ugly if you wanna figure out the chick's name you're talking about.

If you like really offbeat, quirky movies, check out 'Tideland'. It's similar to World According to Garp or Hotel New Hampshire, but darker. I actually had to watch it twice before I decided I liked it, a lot.

See? That's creepy, Theresa. I need to know right away if I like something or not. Please explain. For some reason I can't stop giggling right now at this idea. You're welcome.

It's a really hard movie to explain and classify without giving too much away. One of the opening scenes is a little girl in the kitchen, cooking her dad's heroin. It's by Terry Gilliam and he just has this way of filming harsh, upsetting topics and turning them into fairy tales. My daughter had the same reaction. After the first time we watched it, we just looked at each other as the credits rolled with shocked looks. She said, "I'm not sure how I'm supposed to be feeling about this". Then it just kind of sat in our brains for a week or so until we watched it again. We both decided it was genius.

Ha ha. Okay. Is it supposed to be a comedy?
Question. Did you like Donnie Darko?

Not a comedy, but there are funny parts. I haven't seen Donnie Darko yet, but my daughter says I would like it.
