Stephen Sondheim, one of the greats of musical theater (easily on par with Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gilbert and Sullivan and the like)...And they did an amazing job keeping true to the play with Sweeny...
The only problem I had with Corpse Bride was sound issues...I thought the songs were poorly recorded because it gets very difficult to understand the lyrics at times beneath the chorus...
What did y'all think of his Batman movies?

I liked them too...what I particularly liked about that series is something that most people hated...each one had a different feel, but then again so do each of the comics...each movie follows the style of a series (Dark Knight, Detective, Batman, etc)...

Though I liked Catwoman, I thought Michelle Pfieffer was far better in the role...then again, when you have DeVito to play off of as Penguin it's an even more amazing cast...And I never had a problem with Keaton as Bruce like a lot of people did...

Yeah, Well Burton is making a remake of Alice and wonderland in CGI. I'm hoping it should be interesting. Something right up his ally. After all the underline story is all dark and pot headish. www.imdb.com/title/tt1014759/ They've been talking aboout doing a movie based off American McGee's Alice. Very dark version of Alice in a video game. I would love to see Tim Burton get his hands on that one. The cat in my avvie is from the game.

I love Tim Burton movies. Dark, quirky, always poking fun at establishment mores, I revel in the implied sarcasm. Edward Scissorhands was such a great movie, it literally broke my heart. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a must see. I think I was one of the few people in America that loved The Corpse Bride. I am chagrined to admit that I haven't seen Sweeney Todd yet, but I have no doubt the DVD will be added to my collection. Sigh....too many movies to see and not enough time to see them all....

The cat in my avvie is from the game. Sadly Burton isn't doing this script. Marcus Nispel is doing it. Sarah Michelle Gellar is playing Alice. but it seems just as interesting. www.imdb.com/title/tt0466663/I wasn't a big fan of the Hallie Berry Catwoman. There is just something wrong with not having catwoman without batman. It wasn't a bad movie just should have stayed with the formate. (Like Xmen that didn't stay with the format. *is still bitter about that one*)

Well, Catwoman's had her own comics from time to time...and like the movie they tend to be one shots not associated with the main series of movies...

I just watched Tim Burton's version of "Planet of the Apes" At first I wondered why I had never heard of it. Then I realized I had seen it before.

I'm interested, but it's supposed to be out in July, yet only two actresses are currently listed?

Maybe the rest aren't big enough actors/actresses or they might not want to be on the sight. They have to sign off on their names being posted on IMDB. My fiance had too.
