Before the big goth movement there was Tim Burtin.
The first movie I saw of his was Edward Scissorshand. I didn't know it was Burtin at the time. My uncle bought me the VHS The Nightmare Before Christmas when I was 8 because I'm a christmas baby and I have loved him since.
I can't say enough about him.
I hate the fact he has become Gothitized. (where all the goth kids love him because he 'speaks ' to them in the darkness. But they've only seen the nightmare before christmas in hot topic)
But I'm not one of those people who are going to stop liking his work because he is popular now.
He's a great Writer, Director, Producer, and has a great vision. I love his style.
And I can't wait until Alice in Wonderland comes out.

Some of his stuff I like and some of it I just don't care for.
I can agree on the "goth" part though.
He just does what he likes. He's an awesome guy though. XD

Well, I have to admit that it's not just Nightmare...Tim Burton has always looked at life from a dark perspective...Edward Scissorhands is a good example but certainly not the only...Not a surprise Goths havepicked him up...
I love his work...

Edward Scissorhands is a great movie. I didn't know it was Burton until years later. I think the only move I've been disappointed by was The Corpse Bride compared to his other work but it still was a good movie. I think him and Helena Bonham Carter make a great team.

I love the Corpse Bride! I thought it was funny. XD
I didn't care for Edward though. It was just... weird... But thats just me. ALL my friends seem to love that movie. I just don't get it.

I saw that but to me it didn't feel like love, more like an oportunity lost. But thats worse isn't it? All the what ifs.
But than to me the whole thing didn't make sense. Everyone loved him and treated him like a child. , given that socially he was... It was just too weird even for me.

I can see what you mean. It was kind of weird when I first saw it but then again I was like 5 or 6. But when I saw it again when I was older. It kind of click in a weird creepy way.

Huh, well,it just never 'clicked' for me. My best friend is like obsessed with that movie. XD She just loves it. I just thought it was ok.
I thought I'd like Sweeny Todd cause blood + music = <3 but I found it rather dull. ^^;

Ending *thinks* OH! Kind of creepy. Kid killing the bad guy in the sewer? Very creepy and self damaging. Kid is going to need a shrink and has no family now.

Yeah, Well Burton is making a remake of Alice and wonderland in CGI. I'm hoping it should be interesting. Something right up his ally. After all the underline story is all dark and pot headish. www.imdb.com/title/tt1014759/
