So, we've talked about our favorite shows now, but what about when you were a kid? The oldest memory of TV I have is watching "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" with my grandmother. I also remember my dad yelling for me to come in from another room to change the channel for him when it was time for Branded, Big Valley, McHale's Navy or Rifleman (Mark, Go to Hattie's!). Sunday evenings were for Wonderful World of Disney and Wild Kingdom with Marlon Perkins (Let's watch from the helicopter as Jim wrestles the alligator). Every day after school, I raced home to watch Batman (POW!), Green Hornet, The Electric Company, and later, Dark Shadows. Saturday mornings were HR Pufnstuff, Scooby Doo, and Land of the Lost. How about you? C'mon, ride the Nostalgia Train with me!

I watched all of the Looney Toons, as well as Heckle and Jeckle, Huckleberry Hound,. Top Cat, Flipper, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Red Skelton, Ed Sullivan, Jack Benny, Lucy and tons more.
On Saturdays at noon, I would fine tune the TV as good as I could to pick up a channel from Cincinnati. It showed all kinds of old scary movies including Hammer Films. Those old movies were the best part of my Saturdays.

I remember discovering 'The Prisoner', and being fascinated, but not quite old enough to understand how tv was programmed or scheduled, I had enormous trouble figuring out when the next episode would come on, so I'd wind up flipping channels in a hopeful search. (Back then, of course, we only had four channels, LOL!!)
To this day, I'm convinced that the local station I watched it on just aired the episodes to suit themselves without a predictable schedule. (I do think if the schedule had been predictable, I'd have figured it out.)

We had something like 3 channels in Dayton and there were 2 in Cincinnati that I could barely get. We got our first color TV when I was 12. I had it set up in no time. The very fist show I ever saw on it was the Wild Wild West. I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. It also had a UHF tuner so we got 6 channels!
In my younger years, I also served as the remote control.
"Put it on 7!", and I'd grab my trusty pliers and change channels in the proper order. You never ever went backwards. It wasn't so bad, My younger brother was the antenna.

Now cartoons from the younger generations: Looney Toons (a classic), Pepper Anne, Darkwing duck, Bathman, X-Men (the one based more on the comics), and Tom and Jerry(kids).

It wasn't so bad, My younger brother was the antenna. I ,too was the official channel changer. I remember putting tin foil on the rabbit ears to get better reception. One day my sister was touching the tin foil and the picture came in better, so we made her stand there and touch it for a half hour so we could see the entire Bugs Bunny show better. My mom yelled at us because my sister was such a little tattle-tale.

My favorite early TV memory was when "The Day the Earth Stood Still" was shown on TV - I was about 8 or 9 - and even though it was on until way past my bedtime, I kept asking Mom "Five more minutes" until I was able to see the whole thing!! Thus was my taste for the strange and unusual born!

I remember when I was in kindergarten @ Wright Patterson AFB (Dayton, OH) i watched Dark Shadows w/my mom. I loved that show. I used to watch Sesame Street and the saturday morning cartoon line up. then when my da was stationed in Japan we'd watch Speed Racer. I still love Bugs Bunny--he's my fave.

Let's see...I used to wake up at 6 am so I could watch Voltron and M.A.S.K. When I got home from school I'd watch Darkwing Duck, Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers, Tailspin and al the rest... Another good one from the past is www.youtube.com/watch?v=loUNoy0Qub0 Gummy Bears!

The Visionaries. I never saw them. I missed most of the Saturday stuff in the 80's.

Ah, I only remember that one from the toys really...they were action figures designed based around a holograph sticker on their shields or banner...
