I have to completely agree about Terry Goodkind...though I think his writing has simply been going downhill to be honest...Confessor was torture through about 3/4 of the book...then it finally started getting into new plot...
As I read it I thought he might be getting too powerful an author and either his editor's are affraid to tell him to take a chainsaw to it, or they tell him and the publisher is afraid to insist when he refuses...
Heck, that novel had well over 100 pages (9 chapters) of a dream sequence that he's already beaten to death in the previous books...okay, mention it of course to remind us of Richard's fears, but after the first 24 pages WE GET THE POINT!

Yes, exactly and how many times do we need Kahlen, Richard, the war wizard out fit, Zeb and everything else described in detail when they are mentioned. Maybe he gets like fifty cents a word or something? If so, he made about 2 million dollars just off the word count. Confessor is the last book of his that I will ever read. He could have resolved that whole series a lot faster but he had to drag it out.

I think we all wanted to see that note planted in her forehead..but hey maybe it was just me. Personally, I had a Monty Python moment: Note attached to arrow thunks into HER chest and off-camera Concorde says, "Message for you, ma'am!"

lol @ Theresa... Well, there's only one more book to the series Vamp, so it would be a shame to let confessor be the last...and even I (who was ready to pan the book openly and aggressively to everyone I knew) had to admit that he finally got the plot moving eventually in that one...

Storyline pet peeves... well for me I get irritated when you get going majorly into the plot, and right there in the worst possible place is some parallel story junk (that might or might not have anything to do with the plot) that's stuck in the middle to make it more suspenseful or whatever. If it's story related I can deal with it, but I have read a few authors that it seems like some random crap about a character that's not even important. For example, Tad William's Otherland series. I got so irritated that I skipped a few pages in one of the books cause it started giving me a migraine. Like backstory on how one character's parents lived growing up. Had NOTHING to do with the story being told. -shudders-

Biscuit, does that include when you have multiple converging plotlines?
