Honestly being from Texas I'm loyal to my home Mexican food. Everytime I tried a place in Seattle I was sadly disappointed. They can't even make sopappias right.

The name of the desert is Kataifi Scraggles...All my life I've referred to it as "Hairy Baklava" much to the amused agreement of my family...It's also my favorite desert... ... Oh! Wow, an actual name for the stuff. Definitely also my favorite, even though I haven't had any since the fall of 1973. I'll surf the net for recipes, but I don't think I have a local source for the dough. Thanks!

hey Mouse, you know that salsa would be good with some green chile in it too and don't forget the garlic. =)

Miki, it all depends on the person eating it. I like garlic in mine but some don't. If you add 3 avacados you get guacamole.

Ditto.. Oh a great recipe for garlic bread!
1 french bagette 1oz oil 1 oz butter; melted 1 tsp dill weed 1 tsp cilantro/parsley; fresh and minced 2 garlic cloves; minced s/p to taste
preheat oven to 350 degrees
split bread in half lengthwise and place on baking sheet center side up.
Bake for 5 minutes
Mix rest of ingredients.
Take out of oven and brush garlic spread over the flesh center of bread.
Bake 10 more minutes until golden brown.
Serve while warm.
*for cheese bread sprinkle 1/2 c of cheddar cheese about 5 minutes into 2nd baking.

Nix on the cilantro. Tastes like soap to me. Garlic, however, is yummy. Bring it on!
