Spiderbaby was kinda creepy...but cool nonetheless...
I was kinda bummed about Midhaven...I never quite understood how she got so much power there that she could take over from three other women who'd been there for longer than she had...not to mention whatever happened to the original "mother" who fled there creating it in the first place?
Personally, I don't think Warren has the mental strength of will to create a tulpa of his own...he's driven, sure, but not nearly focused enough...

Yaaay, T!
DL, I'm not really clear on that, either. Maybe it's the whole belief in one's self. The other girls feared Sola, and I think that fed her.
I think, given time, Warren could get so focused on revenge or escape that he might just do it.

I think, given time, Warren could get so focused on revenge or escape that he might just do it. True that...and it might be enough for him to reconstruct enough of Midhaven to get out, but I still doubt that kind of mental focus is strong enough to actually create a tulpa...after all, the whole concept behind it is that you've cleared your mind enough that the entity itself is the focus, not the reason behind it...if you're too focused on the emotions that drive it, the being itself wouldn't sustain enough realism to take form...

The spider baby was creepy--I knew exactly what it was from the get-go and thought, yeah, that fits for that freak of a mother.
I hope Warren goes batshit crazy in the destructed Midheaven and stays alive for a long long long time. Pffft

And I LOVE your quote: Gray is the new black. Might steal it. Stick around. We're the cool kids. Hi, everyone! I'm really excited to be here. </geek> I picked up this series about 6 months ago and have ripped through it, finishing up "Cheat the Grave" last week. Uh, I'm a Scorpio. I suppose I'd be Light, but I'm now thinking Gray Is The New Black. Or something. :-) Anyway, hi! Oh. Mah. Gah! Showgirl used my quote in the book!!! I about died. I had just had one of the worst days EVAR (total First World exaggeration, by the way, but I was quite upset in spite of that), and I cannot tell you how much it thrilled me when I stumbled across that in the early pages of the book. You turned it all around for me, Vicki. I really enjoyed the story. I'd love to see some spin-off stories about Carlos. And thank you so much for giving Jo and Hunter a little time together in the suite at Valhalla before you closed up the book. *wink* I think we all needed that!

See how muchfun it is to hang out here. Everytime someone calls Vicki Showgirl, I get a buzz because I called her that first. (Jolivia was mine too)

Tah Dah!! I have finished! It takes me so long to read books anymore. Sigh. In my defense, I went on two trips and have been hella busy, but still... Plus I think I was kind of reluctant to finish it because then it would be over. BUT - I loved it!! Vicki, you made me cry AGAIN!!! The scene at the graveyard really got to me! (Probably because I lost someone last year, but it really was a heartfelt scene.) And not just the spider baby to creep us out - SHRUNKEN HEADS!!! EW!!!! That talked and had gems for eyes. Did I say EW!!!? And how about those soul sucking masks? Lots of creepifying action in TNG! But of course, the most important part was Hunter and Jo ending up together with their baby. Was there ever a doubt?? Hunter is the bomb. I heart him and want him to ditch Jo and come to Cleveland and take me away from it all but as that didn't happen, this ending was quite satisfactory!! Yay! Thanks Vic for a fantastic ride!! Can't wait for the new one!! xoxo

Ta Da! Shamed to say I finally finished....LONG, hard summer here. But back to school means ME time and I finally got to tame the TBR pile! Great and satisfying read Vicki! I so enjoyed that the boy was the one needing to be rescued, not the girl. Go Jo and all while being pregnant, girl was on fire!
