Mik, I was absolutely tickled when people started talking about the 13th sign. Kismet, is all I can say. So that was fun for me too. Oh, yes - I'm soooo scary. But glad you liked it, even the shite. Ah, the elevator scene. Srsly needed some comic relief just then, and that sort of thing really does happen in Vegas. So... *shrug* Thanks for indulging me. And thank you for reading from beginning to end. There'd be no point to working so hard to wrap it up if there was no one to read it. My Peeps are the best.

I get that DL. And wha--? ;-) Well, *I* thought it was funny! It was a very good ending to the series and yeah, you wrapped up everything very nicely...I was sad about Felix...not so much about Vanessa because she went out with a bang while Felix just sort of turned up dead... Crying like a Twi-HARD?

Oh, trust me, I laughed when that popped up...and the comic relief was perfect pretty much all the way through the series, much less this book!

I thought it was interesting that you talked about the 13th zodiac sign. A few months back there was all this talk about it running through fb and the news and when it popped up in the book, I was like, how cool. Here's what's scary. I read that stuff in THE NEON GRAVEYARD first. Months before it came out in the media. I thought it was something Vicki made up. So when the first news article hit the web, I freaked out and sent it to Vicki and she was like, "Duh. I know my stuff." Mucho impressed. I was soooooo fucking creeped the hell out by Solange's spider-monster daughter. OMG. But what do we expect to happen when a child is born without a soul? No, I did not ever consider this in all the time I contemplated the child Hunter had with that devil woman. The spiderweb scene was so expertly written, it gave me CHILLS.

And yeah, I wanted Warren to die too. But that leaves a door open. He's suffering, as far as I'm concerned. He got what he gave. Maybe he'll learn his lesson. Or maybe he'll fester and become such an evil bastage that he'll be who Ashlyn faces as HER big baddie someday...

Actually, I wrote a fan-script for Zodiac universe shortly after CoS came out where the main character is a pure mortal (rogue) agent who wanders around under the sign Ophiuchus...He even made a glowing sigil for himself out of LEDs and his conduit it a staff with the twined snakes...although the very top comes off to reveal a blade as well...

That was the end? That's all you got? Just kidding. it was outstanding. I liked the part about the Kim Harrison GN. I never knew about the 13th sign but I figured if Showgirl used it then there must be one and I thought that was especially cool. That detail shows just how much planning and research she does. I can hardly wait to see what springs forth from Vicki's evil twisted mind next year.

I'm done!! Whew! Now I can finally join this thread again (Cue "The Bitch is Back") LMAO! SO, so well done! Vicki, I'm giving you a standing ovation! But while sitting. And drinking my martini. But you get the point. It was PERFECT. Seriously, everything that needed to happen, happened. It gave me the exact same feeling as my mom telling me a bedtime story and finishing with "They lived happily ever after". Except I know maybe they didn't, but that's OK. I literally sighed out loud, at 2am when I finished the last page. I'm with you, Deb. There's enough wiggle room to continue if the characters speak to Vic again, but as is, it's fulfilling and satisfying. Can NOT WAIT for our chat!

I finished zee book. Usually these threads are on like page 5 before I do, I must have burned thru it pretty good. Such a good book. I enjoyed the whole thing, and I love it when both my fav authors reference each other in their books. Too funny. Great use of pop culture throughout hehe. At Vicki's visit here last year in San Diego, she explained that she basically had the whole series planned through, and unique endings of each of the baddies pretty much shows some of that planning. So, Vickie, what parts of the series did you not have planned out that popped up in the books while you were writing them? can't wait for next series.

Loved the book. Great job Vicki. One of my favorite lines is "Hey, just because you're riding the bony pony again doesn't mean everyone else wants to visit the petting zoo." pg. 358.

Loved the book Vicki =) The elevator scene did bring comic relief i laughed out loud. I liked the Kim reference and Chandra was da bomb playing Jo by making her think she was going to hand her over to fucktard Warren but gave her her conduit loved it much. I think when i does catch up on all my other books i will give the series another read through from start to finish

Loved the book. Great job Vicki. One of my favorite lines is "Hey, just because you're riding the bony pony again doesn't mean everyone else wants to visit the petting zoo." pg. 358. You should put that in the quote thread. Alas, I cannot collect quotes on my first read, because it's a Word document and I can't cite page numbers on THAT. Plus, there's always a slim chance Vicki might change something. KIRA! I love re-reading. You find the greatest treasures and will really appreciate Vicki's writing and sneaky clue dropping so much more. Once I discovered she was doing this, I started to suspect EVERYTHING. I was paranoid. Every little thing meant something more than it appeared. I analyzed and dissected, trying to figured it all out. And I also love how she wrapped things up, leaving us feeling fulfilled, but left room for a revisit, if she so desires. hint, hint... Is it too soon to nag? Why are you people not SOOOOO creeped out by the spider child? That scene was so well-written, IMO, I FELT it. What are your thoughts on the state of Midheaven after Sola's hissyfit? I was actually kind of saddened at its destruction. (Is that the right word?) She destroyed everyone, even those who served her. That place of such power, even though it was a soul-stealing place of terror, brought down by one woman's rage. I think it showed how truly powerful she really was. And how insane as well. I wonder what Warren's up to. Will he go insane? Will he find the other ways to escape? Will he seek vengeance on Jo? Will he make a tulpa/doppelganger of his own? (He'll have lots of time on his hands.) What will come of Ashlyn? The tulpa is gone, but surely she will encounter Shadows in her life. Will there be a full-fledged troop (on both sides) for Ashlyn to either join or fight? And what of the child Jo now carries? I do feel as if this book tied it all up. But these are things I would LOVE to speculate about with you guys. I fell in love with this world!
