Hi. I'm new. I just found this series a few weeks ago. I'm hooked and can't wait for book 6 (Amazon has a release date of May 31, 2011 - just pre-ordered). I very rarely read a book twice, but I've read all of these at least twice, trying to find all the little nuggets. I don't know why it's bugging me so much, but I keep trying to figure out how much time has lapsed between Dark Matters and Cheat the Grave. In The Taste of Night, Hunter explains to Jo why he hasn't had a drink in a "decade". But, then, in Dark Matters, it's mentioned that Hunter sees the two socialite sisters featured in a news story on TV and later sees Olivia in the spa at Valhalla in a bikini with two other women, with a comment about a sweet smile on a body like that. Ten minus the 25 that Jo is in book two would make her 15 and Olivia 12 or 13 at the time Dark Matters takes place. Is that correct? It's driving me crazy.

Hi Kimisan, Welcome! And congrats on catching up so quickly -- well done! ;D I'm glad Jo's journey is holding up on rereads - that's really the best compliment an author can receive, you know. Thank you for reading ... each time! No, you're not going crazy. Hunter lied to Jo in TASTE about the time lapse because he was keeping his secret, and his vow to Warren. This is explained in the text somewhere, but I can't remember if it's in DM, CITY or CHEAT. I just finished THE NEON GRAVEYARD and have book brain. So you're not crazy and it's quite simple, but it's not someone who hasn't done a reread would catch onto. Help atol? Hi. I'm new. I just found this series a few weeks ago. What? Hunter lied? Surely not. Good catch, Kimisan! I love to re-read too. Not only are Vicki's books like delicious candy to me, but now that I know she's been leaving breadcrumbs all along, I like to try to find those as well. I've always loved her books, but I appreciate them even more now, knowing she was plotting the whole series and carefully leaving hints along the way that we may have missed in our clumsy devouring of each installment. Unfortunately, this also make me suspect almost everything to be a miniscule hint of something major on the horizon. Welcome to the board. I hope to see you posting around. (Notice how evil she is, teasing us with the mention of NEON GRAVEYARD.)

Ooohhh.... a response from the author. Cool. Hi Vicki, Raven. Thanks for the welcome. That does help. And now I will have to go have another read to find where it's explained. I might have to buy these in paperback. I usually read on an eReader, but find that I miss being able to physically flip through the pages with this series. Anyway, thank you! Kim

Oh yeah, get them in paperback. The covers alone are worth it.

I know I must but buying books takes money something that a poor Minimum wage employee such as myself lacks

It's the best antho ever, for one. But that short tells sooo much. It's incredible.
