Woo hoo! I signed up for the unlimited plan before it ended! I get to keep it until I drop Verizon as my carrier. I got to play with my nephew's Droid Incredible 2. It was cool. I even used it to post here buy it messed up at the last minute and didn't work. The Droid 3 was released yesterday for on line buyers only yesterday. It will be in stores on the 14th. Overall, it seems to be a better phone than the X2 that I want. They cost $200.00 with a 2 year plan. If they stay the same price, I'll probably get the Droid 3. If the X2 price drops, and it should, then I'll get it. The Droid 3 is a global capable phone, runs the 2.3 operating system has a front facing camera and a slide out 5 row qwerty key board plus web browser. The Droid x2 doesn't have these. I don't care about global, I'm not leaving the US ever again. The X2 will be able to upgrade to the 2.3 OS when it's available. Front facing camera is nice but I don't need it. Its for things like video calls, skype and chatting. The physical keyboard sounds nice but they both have the virtual touch screen key board and they are quite nice. The web browser is nice because it eliminates the need for apps like the one pro board is selling. One thing the X2 has that the 3 doesn't is a slot to expand the devices memory. The 3 comes with 16GB of RAM and that's all it will ever have. The X2 is expandable to 32 GB I like that a lot. Droid 3 with KB slid out Droid x2

That's a very bad thing! While the Ram is important, the more important thing is that cameras and whatnot save files to the SD card and can be quickly and easily swapped between phones...if an X3 breaks you don't have that capability and would probably lose everything...

I meant I liked the X2 with the SD card better.

Seems like I may have repeated some incorrect info. The Droid 3 does come wit a micro SD slot. The just don't supply a card for it. There for, it has 16GB RAM on board and room fore a 32 GB micro SD card for a total of 48 GBs of storage. (If I'm right) The girl at the store said she installed a 32GB card that day. Looks like I'm moving up to the Droid 3...unless the soon to be released Bionic is even better... It doesn't get much better than free now. OH JOY! Yesterday my 32GB micro SD card arrived. I tucked it away in a safe spot. Today my wireless router arrived. It was very easy to set up. Now all I need is some WiFi enabled devices say like my new phone. Is it Aug16 yet? In my never ending quest to get a good deal, I checked out Walmart(k). What a rip off they are! The suck people in with really low phone prices but the contracts average about $20.00 a month higher than the actual carrier's plans. My current plan is 450 min for $39.00. Same plan from them is $59.00! So far it looks like Amazon is still the way to go. I'm still leaning towards the Droid 3. With 16 GB on board with the additional 32GB card IO have, it'll have all the storage space I need for quite a while.

Vampy, usually all the carrier plans are the same price no matter where you get your phone. That's controlled by the carrier. If you're switching from an non-smart phone to a smart phone you can also expect to pay anywhere from $10-$30 more a month for your plan.

I'll have to see how many GB I use in a month's time...I'm on mine a lot. I love my Droid X. I have Pandora, love the Advanced Task Killer, that fucking Angry Birds.... lol, OH, gonna download the proboards app, I also have Weatherbug Pro, The Food Network, NHL gamecenter, My Days (it's a woman thing for keeping track of your periods...I know, TMI), and I have Lookout for security. Oh and gasbuddy to check for the cheapest gas. those are the ones I use most. And Facebook I have 2 diff. fb apps--one is fb mobile the other takes you directly to fb and looks just like fb online--I use that one when i want to use my other fb apps quicky. And of course now that I'm playing with it, I see that fb mobile has a link to the desktop fb. I have to admit that I have to do the one-finger texting with the touch screen because of my nails (I can't really use my fingertips and the touch pad doesn't acknowledge when I try to use my nail tip. But I had the Blackberry with the keypad and I like this sooo much better even though I make a lot of mistakes and have to back track. I have GOT to turn off auto fill, for sure. pffft but it's handy sometimes cuz it'll remember whole phrases that I use and I just have to touch each word and the next one will show up at the top, very quick and handy. I love my droid! ;D Oh so I'm reading...I really don't need the proboards app. cuz I have the web browser. I was thinking about the Droid 3 but i don't need that cuz I'm getting a Xoom and that'll take care of what I can't do on the droid x. but...Global...that WOULD be nice...we'll see. I'm happy with what I have now. Oh, and I'm not a fan of the qwerty pull down keyboard.
