So I finished Cheat the Grave last night.... and I'm not really sure what to feel. I know I need more. Addiction is a bad thing I was told, but this one just feels so good.
I knew there was a connection with Suz somehow, I didn't know how I just felt it. Didn't think it would be that. It was a pleasant surprise that got a loud "AWWWWWW". I didn't like the Hunter pokeyouttieeyeball thing, that just made me cringe and sad for him. The creepy Mack gave me the heebeejeebeees all over again. But I loved the wedding - so full of STUFF. The eatting of the Mack was just -- I kept thinking about Halloween for some reason. No, I'm not planning on eating beef Jerky skeleton men.
I think part of my disconnect or disorientation now is because I don't have a book to follow that up with (see what addiction does to you), BUT I am going to try to find Unbound today. Maybe I'll feel better about Hunter after I read it. Holidays are Hell is the other one I'll try to find too.

Hi jessicav -
Addiction has such a bad rap, doesn't it? ;-)
I'm so glad you enjoyed - and the wedding scene was my absolute favorite to write. In every book there's what I call a "money scene" -- it's one the readers remember most, one I remember forever, and one that comes to me nearly fully formed. But I got the feeling this was the money scene for the entire series. I just loved it, and my editor loved it from the get-go too. I have to push to try and out-do that in book6.
Thanks for writing -- and if you need another fix, the DARK AND STORMY KNIGHTS antho comes out in a couple of weeks. It's Skamar's story, and takes place just before CtG. So if you're mind's still in the game, that would be good too.

Awesome! I need to get to the bookstore ASAP before I start having massive withdrawal symptoms. Looking forward to see where the story goes from here on out!

I was bummed about Skamar. I thought she may have had more story left, but I guess not. Zoe's comment about tulpa's was pretty funny tho, once you make one, the rest get easier. I lold on that. There is a big chat /spoiler thread for CtG you might want to check out.

Just have to say I've been a fan of the series since they first came out, got hooked with the first book in the first chapter, but this one has been the absolute BEST in my opinion so far. I can't wait to see what happens with both Hunter and Warren next.

I was bummed about Skamar. I thought she may have had more story left, but I guess not. Read her short story, "Shifting Star" in DARK AND STORMY KNIGHTS- out NOW! You'll be amazed at how touching she can be. All of Vicki's shorts really enhance the series, so go get them all now!

Thanks, artemis711! I'd say that CHEAT is my favorite too ... but I just finished THE NEON GRAVEYARD. *evil author grin* Just have to say I've been a fan of the series since they first came out, got hooked with the first book in the first chapter, but this one has been the absolute BEST in my opinion so far. I can't wait to see what happens with both Hunter and Warren next.
