I loved the scene where Skamar literally ate Sleepy Mac, I was awed and sad at the same time how she died! To me it really made the whole book worth it! Wasn't surprised about Suzanne, its like hello hiding in plain sight! I was cool with her eating Sleepy Mac, but his retribution almost did me in! LOL Evil, evil possessed knife.

Breadcrumb. Can I just say I have been waiting for Suzanne to reveal herself as Zoe since book 3 (or maybe book 2... whenever she saw Cher and Jolivia with the Shadow Manual). I'm so glad she did it in such an explosive fashion. (sorry for the pun, couldn't help it ).

vtaltos, Your points are all well taken, and I can't help but be pleased that you've given it such a careful read and consideration. You couldn't offer an author a better compliment, even if it is masked as "criticism." In any case, I think the question as to Joanna being (or not being) the Kairos is still fairly wide open. At this point in the series, it's not definitive either way. You could make a case for either side, though as to which one is true ... Yeah. There are bread crumbs there. Without giving too much away, I can tell you I made sure of that much. With much fond regards in return, Vic Vicki: Hello again. I just finished it, and there's a lot going on in this one. Very cool read...I ripped through it in a little over a day. Great story, great read. That said, I believe in honesty, so I guess I've got a few complaints or questions, as you wish to read them. a. Shifting Joanne out of the Kairos role seems a dodge to me. Sorry, just have to say what I feel from a plot standpoint. A character in a series set up for a fateful role, something they're born to...foretold/prophecied/announced by a shooting star...it just smacks of uncertainty in the plot development. Joanne was born to this role...given the whole thread for the series being the 'prophecies' about her, to suddenly shift things like this...it just smacks of 'cheap' to me, like you ran out of ideas of how/where to take the character. b. This is related to the last point, but is tangential. Shifting around 'what' Joanne is as a character is one thing...but I hope we continue to see her regain some ability to kick butt! All this said, I don't want the comments to come across too harsh...because you're an awesome writer and I'd gladly buy you a coffee or dinner at your choice of watering holes to get your take on just about any topic, but I'd love to hear the reasoning on the commentary on 'a' and some promises for the future on 'b' (I hope, ). With Fond Regards, VTaltos (Don H)

Wow, I'm loving that I found some place to discuss this great series! Helps with the withdrawal when I've been able to gorge myself on 5 books in a row but now have to wait until next summer for the Sixth Sign. Reality bites, eh? ;-)
Anyone else wondering what happened between Zoe and Warren after he carried her away from the wedding? I mean, you KNOW, that Warren wasn't going to just let her walk away.
And speaking of Warren, I'm with those who don't think he's EVIL. Do I think he needs to get his ass kicked? Absolutely, but I don't think he needs the horrible death. Someone just needs to have a "Come to Jesus" meeting with him and get him to lose that tunnel vision.
"I love the cancer spoon!" made me laugh, as well as Jo and Carlos high-fiving after Carlos shot Kimber with the tranq.

Someone just needs to have a "Come to Jesus" meeting with him and get him to lose that tunnel vision. HA HA HA! Good one! I can't wait to find out what happened between Zoe and Warren! Welcome. So glad you found us. I know how it feels, needing some place to discuss these awesome books with fellow readers. That's why I nagged Vicki to let me start it! ;D I need to talk about them with people that understand.

Hi Chris, Welcome - and thank you for jumping in. Water's nice, right? Thanks, too, for mentioning the little snippets that made you laugh. They make *me* laugh, but then I have to wonder if I'm just twisted. ;D Hm, I should write a short about the meet between Zoe and Warren. I'd love to know explicitly what was said there too -- though I know she really gave it to him. Sorry for the wait on THE NEON GRAVEYARD ... but I've been working hard to make it worth it!
