I feel better now after reading this thread. I would make mistakes on the newsletter for my old website, which was FREE to readers, and most of the time I was writing with kids blabbing in my face, but even ONE tiny error and people would email me all bent out of shape. I felt like a failure. But now I see that huge companies and news sites can make all the fricking mistakes they want and no one cares. No fair. LOL

24 Things You Might Be Saying WrongNice Helpful Hints ;D I am guilty of a couple of these things, even knowing they're wrong and not caring. I think I'd sound like a dork saying "whom" in everyday conversation in most cases. I was wrongly corrected on the use of the word "wary" by someone older than me when I was about 19 and it pissed me off because I knew she was wrong. She said "wary" meant tired and cleary I meant to say "leery". I didn't correct her, but I knew she meant "weary". "Supposably" is one of my pet peeves. I don't say it. When supposed intelligent people say "try and relax" instead of "try to relax" in the movies, I cringe. Yes, I'm that dorky.

I thought it was "culs-du-sac" and not "cul-du-sacs"? Pet peave for me has always been forte (as in a person's specialty)...it's pronounced "fort" not "for-tay"...

...again with the learning... I never knew that.
Now to something really importatant...
Is the 't' in "often" silent or not? I had a 3'rd grade teacher insist that it is. I say of en instead of of ten.

^HA HA HA. Good one.
I've head the "t" pronounced quite often by otherwise intelligent people.

Seriously? No hard "t" in often? Who says? Huh.
One of my favorite sayings is, "Every time you apostrophize a plural, God kills a kitten."

I love you. That's a HUGE pet peeve for me. Don't people GET it? Stop sticking those fucking things in there where they don't belong!
