Okay, guys - throw them at me. What powers - physical, mental, or otherwise - would you like to have? What have you always wanted? Most importantly, what would you be loathe to lose? Why am I asking? No reason... {innocent whistle...}

I liked the original idea they had in Heroes season one. They have drifted off from it somewhat but it was a cool idea. A person's abilities should somehow fit their personality or psychological make up. Someone who is always in a hurry might have teleportation or super-speed. A person that longed to fit in or belong might be able to alter their appearance or create illusions. Someone like me that doesn't like a lot of noise or light might have a tinted force field that mutes out sound and light. There is a pen and pencil game called Champions. It allows you to make up heroes of any type and play them in a game. You may be able to get ideas from it without violating any rules since all of the powers in it are pretty generic and seen in most comics. www.herogames.com/home.htm;jsessionid=ag-D8qJJozhf

I think that's a good concept. But I don't think female superheroes need the "ine" on the end.
I think I need "Go go gadget heels" to be extra tall sometimes. People in the grocery store thing I'm an amazon beast and can reach everything. Really, I'm not. Sometimes I need an extra boost.
Zoom-In Vision When I used to watch Bionic Woman, I remember thinking it might be cool to be able to zoom in on things with my eyes like I can in my camera's viewfinder. (Still do.)
Telepathy Dude, to read minds? Hell's yeah! But I want to be able to turn it on and off easily, unlike Sookie Stackhouse. Me want Jedi mind trick. No Mr. Police Man, this is not the speeding woman you're looking for.
Telekinesis Superhero power or lazy people habit? You know how many times I've been perfectly comfortable cuddled up in bed with a good book when the damn phone rings? Yeah, I've wished I could will the phone to my side. (Among other things.)
Ability to Fly Okay, this one's a little far-fetched and harder to hide from the masses who want to burn freaks at the stake, but weeeeee...
Teleportation Have you seen gas prices lately? Hel-lo!
Change Looks Sometimes I just want to not look the way I do. It might be cool to have a power where you can mimic someone else's appearance or certain features. I wouldn't mind being able to tweak certain things drastically but temporarily. Could come in handy for a superhero that needs a disguise.
I hope that helps, Vic.

Well, I came up with a power a long time ago for Marvel super-heroes RPG...
Acquired Immunity: The power to become immune to any non-kinetic attack provided the bearer can survive the 10 minutes it takes for the body to adjust and incorporate the immunity.
Going with Vampy's concept of the power fitting the personality; Psychic Invisibility: You connect to the minds of those around you and subconsciously convince them to ignore your presense. The downside is that you aren't actually invisible so you appear on cameras and the like. (There was an X-file where a person had this ability and it's refered to as Obfuscate in White Wolf's Vampire games)
I don't understand the question about what we'd be loathe to lose...do you mean of our current capabilities/knowledge/skills or something else?

I've always thought it would be cool to time travel, even if I wasn't allowed to change things.

Well, morally, it would be wrong to use certain powers at certain times, and then there's the problem of not wanting to get caught and being turned into a lab rat. I think that's what she meant. Or at least why I'd hesitate in using powers. But, if "they're all gonna laugh at you" then they're all gonna get torched by the telekinetic fury. Let's face it.

Could come in handy for a superhero that needs a disguise. Raven you totally read my mind on these. Telepathy: I would love to know what people are thinking. No one could lie to you, manipulate you, or screw you over anymore. You'd know someone's true colors in the blink of an eye. Very cool power, but then again I'd love an off switch to it. Sometimes ignorance can be bliss. Teleporation: The joys of sleeping that extra half hour and never being late for anything ever again! And when you're a superhero, you'd always be able to get to someone in distress. Telekinesis: I would be so much happier if i could just keep my lazy ass on the sofa reading or watching TV without having to get up to get something or do my mother's biding. Besides those lovely perks, you could get a weapon out of your enemy's hands, knock them over the head when your hands are indisposed... Yup, I'd also really enjoy looking like someone else for a while. It would be so nice to stare at another face in the mirror every morning. But I'd add Invisibility as a possible "disguise". As a superhero you can just dissapear in a crowd or overhear conversations that could be really important to your mission. That's why I love books. anything is possible!

Ah, you guys have just solidified your awesomeness! Thank you.
Yes, Raven, it does help, but not in the way you think. I get so wrapped up in my own mind and the Zodiac world that it tends to get a bit insular and stale. I won't use any of these, but what they do is get me approaching the subject from different viewpoints and sensibilities. ("Have you seen gas prices - hel-lo!" {bfg}) It's like picking up a book and coming away inspired, but much more to the point.
Everyone needs a sounding board, right?
Yes, this is written at 2 am. Yes, I do have insomnia. Every night. Clockwork. Grr...
The power to induce sleep... Shi-iny.

Teleportation would be up there on my list, but I'd also love to be able to turn into a hawk or a raven and fly but still keeping my human mind.

OK, I have two.
My first is the ability to PAUSE time. I don't need to travel it in anyway, forward or back, just stop it for a bit to catch my breath. You know, you have a busy day into a busy evening and there's no time to stop. I want to be able to pause time until I'm good and ready to continue with what I have to do.
Second, I want super senses at will. I don't need the '6th Sense' just the good ol' 5 but SUPER when i want them. It's common, I know, but that's what I would find most useful.
