Getting a quote bigger than size 2 is hard. Is there an easier way to do that?
Meanwhile back to the book. It's amazing. There is enough stuff going on in it to make 3 books. The vampires, the Weres, and the witches, very good indeed.
Are any guys allowed in the Charletens?

Yup, we have one token male.<giggle> We would be happy to have another, however, you would have to grace Charlaine's board with your presence in order to join. Big Mama has the membership closed at the moment (we've been traveling), I could let you know when she opens it again, if you are interested. We do have nifty t-shirts that are usually available to order once or twice a year also.
There is an "Official Spoiler Thread-From Dead To Worse" in the Sookie Stackhouse section you might want to ponder if you are so inclined, once you are done with the book.

Well almost done. I am only to chapter 18. I may be done tonight. Definitely tomorrow at the latest. I divide my time here at work between the Internet, reading, watching DVDs and eating. It's a tough job but I can handle it.

Wow! I didn't realize just how hard you have to work....to stay awake, LOL! I need one of those jobs. The ones I have now don't allow for much other than actual work. The book wraps up a lot of the previous plot lines and introduces new ones. Out with the old and in with the new. She is about 200 pages into the next book. Gotta love my job!

I'm not much for playing shipper but, it seems to me there is only one person worty of Sookie. I guess he's just too close for her to realize it. You think it's Sam, don't you? I just can't get past the fact that he got with that naga betch way-back-when even after she tried to kill Sookie. Friends don't do that! But other than that, I used to think so too. I really like Quinn though. And there's just something about Eric...

There is no proof that Sam did anything but hang out in the woods with the maenad, Callisto. Besides, she was crazy and if she said hang out with me, I'd do it in a New York minute to stay on her "good" side. Even the vamps were afraid of her...remember Eric, Pam, and Indira brought her the bull as tribute.
Sam is like the boy next door, one day Sookie is going to turn around and see him for what he is...a great guy who has always loved her, who is supportive of her, and could give her the family she craves. Anyway, I sure hope she opens her eyes!
Jason is a very self-centered jerk, I have despised him since he slapped Sookie after he found out that Gran left her the house. Total tool!

While almost every other character in the books has gotten better over time, Jason keeps getting worse. I have a feeling he's going to end up like this one nephew I have, alone and disowned. Family members can and will take a lot of abuse from a 'black sheep'. Sooner or later, they go to far and the family says enough is enough. We can't support or help you anymore and cuts them loose. Jason is about a thread away from this happening to him now. Sookie is just too cool. I'd love to have a friend like her. It's too bad most of the people she knows treat her like a freak. Oh well their loss. I just finished the book about 5 minutes ago. The last bit was very interesting. I pity the fools(Mr. T impression) that read the last page first. this next part may be a Things are really looking up for Sookie right now. I am guessing that can mean only one thing, our girl's about to face some serious crap in the next book. I do think Sam is the most capable guy in the books so far that could truely make her a happy camper.
He has always loved her. He could give her the family she wants. In the affairs of the vamps and weres, he is about as nuetral as he can be and accepted by both factions more or less.
Yes, all of the vamps are great I guess but they could never give her the children she wants or a normal(well as normal as she can get) life. The Were's are just too damn moody and prone to vioolence. She can do with out that. I guess this part's not a spoiler so oops.[\spoiler]
The book was great. Like I said before, it had so much going on, it could have been 3 books. Charlaine did a great job (with Nurse Debi's help) putting it all together. A job well done!

I so agree with you on every point, however, I have no influence with the story line. Sigh....wish I did...That would be !

I guess one of the keys to good story telling is keeping your protagonist in a world of hurt. If they fall in love with someone then it's red shirt time for him. either that or some other obstacle presents itself.
Joss Wheadon said a happy hero is a boring one. Maybe so but even heroes need a break once in a while. most of the heroes i see in movies or books have horible lives. I'd never want to be them.
I'm sure Sookie will get her man one of these days and the books will probably end with either her wedding or her funeral.

Jason is a very self-centered jerk, I have despised him since he slapped Sookie after he found out that Gran left her the house. Total tool! Wha-? When did that happen? Have I just forgotten? I've read them all but the newest one so far, little anthology short stories included. How has some short tempered vamp boyfriend not whupped his ass yet? (I've got a wanktard brother too.)
