With this series ending a long with Kim's The Hollows series and Showgirls Zodiac, it feels like the Golden Age of Urban Fantasy is coming to an end. These are 3 of the main authors that got me hooked.

^Ditto, Vampy. Actually, it was the blurbs by Kim and Charlaine on Vicki's book that got me to buy Vicki in the first place!

Kim was on the B&N forums and she highly recommended Vicki so I stayed for her when she showed up there. I had just finished SoS.

Today is release day for DEAD RECKONING. I ordered it on my Kindle because I just couldn't wait to read it. I get my tree book on Thursday when I see Charlaine at the Chicago signing.
This is an awesome book. It ties up some loose ends and sets up scenarios for the last two books. Interesting new characters are introduced and we say "bye bye" permanently to a couple of old characters. I think this may be my second favorite book in the series (DEAD TO THE WORLD is my fav!). I had to stop reading in a few places to catch my breath! Since I am not doing the continuity now, I actually was very excited on release day! Go get your copy soon. You won't be disappointed.

As much as I love Eric, it's time to end that relationship. He's not forthcoming enough, he just can't be. And with that Oklahoma mess... hell no.
I sure hope she's not opening the Bill door, though.
LMFAO @ Alcide.
I'm curious where Mitchell Stackhouse was when Sookie's fairy grandfather was impersonating him to shag Adele. It wasn't entirely clear to me. If he was taking over his body, Dermot wouldn't have recognized the smaller feet in pictures, right?
I don't like that I now picture the True Blood actors when I read the books. I used to have my own visions. Bummer.
Oh, it was funny when Bill listed Sookies virtues and among them he said something about is there was a Miss America Tit Competition, you'd win. (I'm paraphrasing.) It sounded so unlike him.
It bothered me that Sookie never told Bill that Andy's naming his daughter Caroline Compton Bellfleur. (If she told him, I missed it. I did fall asleep reading last night.) She certainly didn't tell him the next time she saw him after hearing the news from Andy. Duh.
We'll be hearing from Jealous Judith again.
Fangtasia has the WORST luck in bartenders.
Poor Pam. She shoulda just turned Miriam if they knew they were gonna kill Victor anyway.
And poor Terry, being manipulated by both Eric and Niall. And least they were nice enough to take his nightmares away for him.
Ooooh the Hooligans are up to no good? Really? *shocker* Did she really need Mr. Cataliades to tell her that? I think Dermot seems honorable, but DUH, Claude is a selfish tool. I knew there was a reason the attic was being cleaned out. Duh. Who/what is after the demon lawyer?
Hunter's gonna be kidnapped, of course. And I do not like that Puppy Room teacher. Sookie should've brought her to Fantagasia the night Bubba sang. Just because.

The Sookie Stackhouse Companion is out and it is a treasure trove of information. Although they did not use a lot of the stuff I was contracted for (the direction of what the book would include changed a lot during the writing process), I think the book turned out great. It is a must buy for any Sookie fan. The novella is very entertaining...I loved it since it had a lot of interaction between my two favorite characters, Sam and Sookie.

Sorry most of your stuff wasn't used, Debi. I know you were working hard on it for awhile. It's a great book and you're an asset to any author.

So finished dead reckoning, good read sookie is defiantly growing up, bill is still lurking around hoping for a nekked reunion Eric was a bit meh sometimes i usually love reading the parts with him in it. all over it was a bit hmmm except for the end. Looking forward to the next one but i am glad it will finish up soon as i hate it when books go on forever (perfect example Anita Blake series) and end up ruining the characters that you love and make them do things they never would just to keep the series going.
