Well I didn't think she just put it in there because it's a nice name. I'm glad she has someone as dedicated as you to keep it all straight. She does have a lot pf people running about in her world and that's just one of her series of books.

You know, we've been talking about Sookie. Don't get me wrong, I love my fellow Southern girl. I also love Harper Connelly. Has anybody else read that series? It's definitely something completely different and appeals to the "ghosthunter" in me.

You are correct about number of characters (she is a character driven author for sure), there were 66 characters alone in the first book, Dead Until Dark. While she does kill off a few here and there, she adds lots more in each consecutive book. I despair of ever finishing this character bible. She is halfway through the next Sookie(#9) and I just KNOW she will be adding MORE characters. AAARRGGHH! Just kidding!

It's definitely something completely different and appeals to the "ghosthunter" in me. Harper is soooo cool! Talk about taking a handicap and using it to your advantage..only Charlaine could come up with such a premise...and make it work. There won't be a Harper book this year, but CH will start writing the next one after Sookie#9 is finished. Have you read the Lily Bard series? Lily came from a very dark place inside Charlaine, who is a rape survivor. It is well written and takes Lily through her recovery and re-entry back into the world of relationships. Four of the five books were re-released last year, Shakespeare's Christmas will be reprinted this year. I recommend them highly, a very good read even though they are mysteries, not paranormals.

Once I get caught up, I am gonna read them all. I am sure you will like Harper Connolly, but I'm not convinced that Aurora Teagarden (mystery solving librarian)will be your forte. She also has two stand alone novels, Sweet And Deadly (was she describing me?) and A Secret Rage . Both are very good reads, albeit mysteries.

That's awesome, Debi! ;D Since I'm having a killer of a time trying to keep everything straight, could you do me a favor and list the Sookie books in reading order please? Maybe number them for us? Like a Sookie For Dummies post. Pretty please. I just want to make sure I'm up to date. Last I remember was I wanted things with Quinn to work out. I'm not sure which I read last. "All Together Dead" maybe? Doy.
