Nathalie, Well, I don't want you to worry about Jo's direction - book4 starts up very shortly after the ending of TOUCH and there are a few loose threads that can't be ignored any longer (namely Jasmine and Li and the manuals of Light no longer being written) so the story continues intact. There does seem to have been a shift for Jo after that initial trilogy, however, in that she's now used to being and working as a part of the troop, she's finally accepted, and parts of her past have finally been laid to rest. This leaves the series open for new developments, which is a shot in the arm for Jo and Co. and fun for me as an author.
Thus, it also seemed a natural place to shift the series title, and freshen the look. See, there are already six books planned in the series, with the possibility of more. Well, as you know, there are only five senses ... so we were already writing ourselves into a corner there. City of Souls is an organic title, it comes straight from the text and my editor had that "Ah-ha!" moment when she heard it -- which I never doubt in her. She also mentioned discovering this amazing artist who was making his way to the States - he did Melissa Marr's beautiful UK cover of INK EXCHANGE - so we grabbed him right up.
Myskay - I'm afraid it's US summer. June again. Sorry! And I LOVE the German covers too. I can't wait for it to come out there! But in answer to your question, it's not like any of those existing covers. This artist does wonderful work with color and light, so it's the exact opposite of the stark, moody covers I've had (and loved!) in the past. I'll post it for you guys as soon as I get the green light to do so.

Thx for answering, Vicki I'm really glad Jo's gonna be working with her team...It'll be nice to see her accept the fact that she has some people in her corner that can help her out... June release? Do we really have to wait 8months??? lol I love Melissa Marr's covers, they are absolutely gorgeous, can't wait to see the new one!

LOL I think I read Simcha's Post wrong... LOL I thought he was trying to push back Next years release! Thank you though... Next June ..... arghhhhh! Soooooo long..... oh well on the bright side its not next december I have the UK cover for INK EXCHANGE so all good! It is a fantastic cover. Different cover for a different direction is a great way to launch the change for us readers! Now I'm all aglow with excitement - Vicki just another question - the artist is signing on to do only this cover for the US edition does that mean a change for the UK cover too?

...not to be a total smart ass ..ok scratch that but next December is just 2 months away...I guess it could also be call this December but it is also the next one. If Vicki could count ESP then maybe there could be six senses used.

Nathalie,
The exact date is still flexible, but we're looking at fall of next year. It's really coming together, though - it's called UNBOUND, and I've seen a mock-up of the cover - pretty and sexy and atmospheric. I can't wait -- thanks for asking!
