Depending on what I'm doing it's either "One more chapter." or "I need to finish off this level." While I have all the time in the world and maybe even the imagination to be a writer, I don't have the burning desire or motivation to do it. In short I am just lazy. I cant even keep a journal.

Congratulations Archangel! What have you been doing in TV broadcasting? Sorry for the delayed reply... I'm starting to read up for my coursework so not on the net as much as I was... To answer your question I was first and foremost a Videotape editor. I worked for the BBC in London for several years working on a number of their flagship shows. But later on I got interested in Television recording archives and I became a specialist in restoration and repair work. I also used to give public talks about preservation of archive material. But last year I gave it all up to start to learn to be a proper writer, something I've been playing at for about twenty years. Reading the books by Vicki, Kim H. and a few others has inspired me to the point where I'm at last starting to turn out some reasonable stuff. Providing I manage to get my postgrad degree I think I might have a chance to make a living from it. It probably also does no harm that second time around I'm now going to the same university from which JK Rowling graduated

Sounds like some very cool work there Archangel! Hope the writing works out for you though...me, I don't have the courage to try going full force into writing, so I'm doing as much as I can while still working as a toll attendant...

Hi! I'm Theresa. I discovered Vicki's books right around Christmas. It was one of those Amazon 'if you like this, you might like' things. I have to say I was immediately impressed. There was storyline, and character development and plot, for goodness sakes! Things some of the authors I used to read have forgotten about. It seems like I read a lot of the same things the rest of you do, Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, Simon Green, Richelle Mead, & Wm Mark Simmons to name a few. I also watch/ed Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Supernatural, Torchwood, Dexter, Pushing Daisies & Ghosthunters. Gee, that makes it sound like I actually have time on my hands! Not so much really, I work 6 days a week managing a Radioshack, live with my wonderful husband of 22+ years, my 18 year old genius daughter, 3 abnormal cats, and 2 cuddly ratties. TMI? Anyway, this place looks like the perfect place for me to hang out. Thanks for having me!
(Edited to add Pushing Daisies. This show needs to come back NOW)

Hi Theresa!
Not TMI at all! So glad you found us. And you have a Dexter quote in your tag line...I need to Netflix that first season. I hear it's morbidly wonderful.

Vic, Have you read the Dexter books? They are too funny in a morbid way. More fodder for the TBR pile. ;D

Vicki(surprise see I know your name ) I don't know if you ever read the Dexter books but they are great. Well the first 2 are. I didn't like the third one as much. The first season of Dexter follows the general story of the first book. There are of course some changes along the way. While I do like the actress that plays his sister, they could have done a better job in casting. The girl doesn't look at all the way she is described in the book. Acts like her though. Dexter is THE only reason I have Showtime right now. Once it gets canceled I am joining Hells Box Office...er HBO. I want to see Charlain's Sookie come to life in True Blood.

I'm debating reading the books myself. I've watched Seasons 1 & 2 and can't wait for Season 3. My concern with the books is how graphic are they? I'm a wimp when it comes to blood and gore. For me and my vivid imagination, books can sometimes be worse in that regard than movies/TV. How would you rate them in that area, Vampyre?
