Howdy all! Deathlynx here...I'm an aspiring novelist myself, but IRL I'm a Toll Attendant... It's funny that the boards launched because I hadn't had a chance to think much about the series in a while...then, a week or so ago a friend told me she was moving to Vagas soon, so I mentioned Vicki and the series...then I jumped on Amazon and did a random search, only to discover Touch coming out soon (it went straight onto my wishlist at highest priority)... I'm very excited to be back talking with everyone Glad to see you here! Yeah, authors have a way of falling off the radar for awhile. That's good, though. It means they're writing!

Evening all... Jenny aka Archangel (she's one of my characters ) checking in from Cornwall UK. I'm a huge fan of Vicki's work which I discovered thanks to Kim H. recommending her to me. I find her imaginative writing style very enjoyable to read. In fact after reading her first two books I have been sufficietly inspired that I decided to wind down my television broadcasting career and go back to university later on this year to read for a Masters degree in creative writing! I spent many many years of dreaming about becoming an author myself whilst writing pulp which was probably only destined to languish in my manuscript drawer. But by chance today I got the news that I have been offered a place at uni so now at last I really can call myself a writer in training. And it's largely thanks to you Vicky! Oh my, are you serious? Wow -- and you're writing UF too! I wish you all the best on this amazing journey. All I can say is whatever you do: Don't Stop.

Hello Vicki & All, I found Vicki's books through Kim Harrison too. Vicki, I loved your book after the first few pages. I was drawn in. I have had the honor of winning a bookflat for Holidays are Hell from you and I have sent it to Kim and Lynsay for signing. I'm hoping to get the final signature some day soon from Ms. Liu. I feel very honored to have the bookflat and I'm trying to find a way to display it so I can see both sides. I fear short of having it hanging from my ceiling rotating from the fan it may not be a plausible solution. LOL It's good to see familiar names from Kim's site and the B&N boards. It's like family. I'm generally a lurker, but I will try to contribute more when time allows;-) Gail- Gail, Wonderful to see you here! And geek that I am, I have the same problem with my book flats. Er, I guess I just called you a geek. (Way to go, Vic. That's the way to keep readers. ) Anyhoo-dles, I'm sure Marjorie will be willing to sign the flat. She's amazingly nice, and so very talented too. I love all the writers in that anthology! (Oh, and I agree with the B&N comment. I love it there.)

Hey all, another Vegas girl. Found Vicki through Kim but at first didn't think much of her. I was originally the one working on a forum for VP but life got in the way and I didn’t have time to finish the graphics but oh well. Such is life.
BTW! If you see this username some place... it's more than likely me. >.>
When I worked in the service counter at my work there was this woman who brought in a camera that needed to be developed. Apparently she brought the camera into another store in our company but they couldn't tell that the camera was a camera... >.> I wonder about their intelligence because it wasn't THAT old.
If you're reading this there is a point!! XD
So I did a little trick to get her film unstuck from it's casing and told her that I had taken years of photography and we chatted. We talked about how many people have moved from film to digital and how she wanted to save the camera for her daughter (Did you end up saving it still?). After a few minutes she left and I developed her film. ((God... is it sad that I STILL remember most of our conversation?))
A few weeks later I was browsing Kim's site to find a new book to read for book club (in which I was president for at the time) and found Vicki's link and visited her site. A few days later the name was bugging me and it wasn't until during my break that I realized why the name sounded familiar. So when I got back I checked the photo logs and low and behold! XD It was Vicki’s film.
Now, I had this thing where I called people after about two weeks to let them know their film was done and ready to be picked up and guess who hadn’t picked up her film? Vicki! XD So throughout my whole shift I was wondering if I should ask or not when I called her so I gave up trying to decide and decided to call her. So I called said who and where I was and told her, her film was ready. Than I said…
Me: Okay… this is going to sound weird but… are you an author?
Vicki: … yes? (I could tell she was a but confused) ((I just about died when she said yes))
Me: Is your first book do out on (insert date here)
Vicki: …yes?
Me: *first EVER girly squeal*
Okay… so excited is one way to put it. >.> Anyways, I told her about how the book club I was in was going to read her book and she sounded pretty flattered and we chatted for a few minutes.
So yeah… now you all know why I’m “Vicki’s Little Photo Girl” which she called me during her book signing at the Clark County Library signing with Kim Harrison. XD
So... more about me… I’m an aspiring author. I’ve had a few poems published. I’m a big animal person. I’m studying to be a psychiatrist. I love photography (not too bad at it… Several people around school who are trying to become models and actresses have asked me to take their photos but I turned them down because many of them did not even want to cover the COST of all the materials as part of the price. >.> The paper is NOT cheap.).

SR/A/My little Photo Girl -- I love that story! LOL. That was very surreal. I thought you were calling to tell me I was going to be arrested for trying to develop naked pictures or something.

Naked pictures? It was a good story.. It's like something you'd see in a movie or something. Hmm guess that's what you meant by surreal.

Great story! I've never been that lucky myself...My fellow toll attendants have mentioned quite a few people who've come through (aside from Goldberg who was random, and Stephen King who lives the next state over we also have Laconia Bike Week which gets all sorts of celebs) but I've never run across any...*sigh* I had better luck as a techie, but there work was work... I'm not surprised there's a few UF authors (especially the aspiring kind) here...like all kinds of artists we tend to create what we most enjoy reading (or looking at or listening to) so we'll deffinately congregate around the successfull examples...

See? Toldja, Vic! If we build it, they will come! ;D Nice to have you guys here! I work at a bookstore and the teens section is frequented by non-teens that shop there for themselves. I still read some YA stuff myself from time to time. Post about it in the "Other Authors" section here so we know who ya are!"
