LMAO! I love the quote on the second one...I hope they do a good job with it, but I suspect they will since it's something of a cultural icon...heck they've sued FASA for use of their copyright...
Looks like it's the first Gen...wonder who's gonna play Minmay?

Not sure, haven't heard any actors that have signed on as of yet save for the guy who played Spiderman as Rick Hunter

Actually, I think he'd make a very good Hunter! Actually, it's Max and Miria I really want to see, but Lisa is a close third...Even as a kid I was glad when Rick chose her rather than Minmay...They were just right for each other!

To the best of my knowledge the books were based exclusively off of the show rather than the other way around (much more common these days with Manga)...Never read any of the books, though my best friend did, which is how I actually understood about the Sentinals and wished they'd complete that series...
I loved the pilot they did for Shadow Chronicals, but wish they'd stop making pilots and start making new shows...

I have all 18 books, good books. they go into much more detail in some places, which makes things make sence in the show. The Sentinals were a Great set of books, I wish they could have finished the show for that too, it would have been really good. As for the Shadows Chrons...*sighs* I bought it just because it's Robotech, but they've changed the SL around ALOT... changed it enough for me not to like the new show much at all, or the RPG, and I normally love Everything Palladium Books put out.

What all have they changed? And do you mean from the books or from the show?

I've only played BT a few times. Never read the books. I have played all of the Mechwarrior PC games. It was one of my favorite series of games. I always wanted to see a movie based on the Battletech/MechWarrior universe.
Last thing I ever saw that came close was Robo Jocks. It was OK but not the same thing.

Battletech/mechwarrior are rip offs of Robotech, they use alot of the same mechs(I'm not sure how they get away with it). and as for what they changed in the SC, it's mainly from the books, since they never did finish the Sentinels toon, I guess they thought it would be ok to just change Cannon from the books. as most of you can tell I'm a huge gamer and Robotech was one of my first RPGs I ever rped so the new stuff just kinda erks me.

The simple answer is, they didn't...the got sued for use of copyrighted properties...in the end FASA went out of business and the company that has taken over the game has redesigned the offending mechs so they no longer look like the Robotech ones...unfortunately they now look like bad endoskeletons...And Robotech wasn't the only Anime they stole from, I don't remember where but there were two other shows less used (though the Atlas was a significant one)...
Incidentally, BT was a complete flop in Japan...they didn't like the fact that the Mechs were so slow...in their culture they want to see the high speed combat of mecha...

To bad about FASA. I did like those games. I didn't realize they screwed up so badly. Sorry for confusing one with the other.

Not a problem at all...Most of the FASA games actualy got picked up by someone else and are still being made (at least the popular ones)...It actually wasn't even the Japanese company that sued them, but rather the American distributer...

I didn't know they went out of business, I just remember going through some books years ago and found alot of the mechs that looked just like the Robotech stuff and I shook my head and put it down. didn't know they took from other sources aswell.

Well, virtually all RPG companies of old have gone out of business or been bought out...White Wolf and Steve Jackson Games are about the only two I can think of that are still strong...heck, even TSR was bought by Wizards of the Coast!
