My sister has been recommending this to me since it started. It took me awhile to finally watch. Zombies just aren't my thing. I'm definitely hooked! The writing is fantastic! You care about the characters from the very first episode. The zombies really aren't the main story. If you liked the mini-series The Stand, I highly recommend this! It's on AMC, Sundays, 10pm eastern.

I've been watching it afterwards.
LOVE IT.
I want to smack the wife, who's shagging the partner. Yeah, I guess it's safe to assume yer hubby's dead, but DAMN.
I can't wait to see how the infection spread. You know husband and wife are going to be reunited soon, probably this week. Because the people he met in the department store are going to hook up with the people his wife is camping out with.
I felt really bad for the guyi n the beginning who just couldn't bring himself to kill his zombie wife. And their poor kid, who kept crying when he'd see her. How sad!
So is Glenn ever coming back with that sports car, or is he off on a joy ride forever?

I have a meeting to attend tonight. Barring that, I'd be in bed before the show airs. I'm sick and an early riser.

I finally watched the first episode this afternoon. I could appreciate how well it was done but something about eating flesh just gives me the heebie jeebies. Ick. I just don't need those images rolling around in my head! So I am going to console myself with some HEA book and a hot bath. But you guys enjoy!

So, am I the only one that thinks maybe Merle led the zombies to the camp last night? Convenient how he stole the truck when his buddies went back into the city to save him and then when they show back up at camp, there's hella zombies there, chowing on everyone.
I had a feeling Jim was digging graves early on in the show.
So, are they gonna take precautionary measures to make sure their friends don't turn into zombies before they bury them? Amy was seriously chomped on, but I didn't see them destroy her brain. Her sister touched her blood. Will that infect her? When they were still in the city and they were covering themselves with a dead zombie's stench to walk amongst them undetected, someone saidsomething like, "Don't get it on your skin or in your eyes." As if that mattered.
And what's up with Shane? Is he gonna go apeshit evil or what? I actually think he was kinda justified in beating the crap out of the wifebeater last week. *glad he's dead, BTW.* Anyway, Jim said something to Rick's wife while he was still tied to the tree about keeping close to her son after Shane walked away. Cautioning her, as if Shane was a threat. Hmmm... And, obviously Jim had a prophetic dream, even if he couldn't fully remember it at the time. Does he know something, suspect something? Besides the fact that Shane is a tool with his own agenda?

akkki I keep missing this show. How many times has it been on? I saw the first one via de` Hulu.
I watched an Aussie movie called "UNDEAD" from Netflix. It was a cheesy horror comedy with a Sci-Fi mix. I had a hard time telling if the acting was bad or if they were doing it on purpose but I did like it.

I was thinking that too. It wouldn't surprise me in the least. And what about that other group they found in the city? At first I was all, "These ganstas should just get blown away." Then grandma comes out and we see the real story behind them. This show jerks your emotions all over the place. I think that's what makes it so good for me.

^I agree. I hate that it has to end so soon. I feel like there's so much more to know and only 2 episodes to cram it all into.
How did the infection take place? Will Rick find out about his partner and his wife? Oooooooo... drama!
I guess I could just read the graphic novels, but that's so not me. Besides, the show won't necessarily follow those storylines.
