She'll be cruisin' the mobile book stores making sure they set up the proper alters...er displays of her first baby. Don't all authors do that?

Jeannie - is there anything else for you to do for Blood Law or is it entirely finished and out of your hands? I have never really grasped the timeline on these things! I think it would be maddening to be editing/finalizing one book and already be writing another but I get the impression that is how it goes? I have one more round of editing, mainly clarifying some things, and then the next round after that will be line/copy editing. After that's done, then it will be out of my hands. Hopefully. It is maddening but it's the nature of the beast. Right now I'm working on the second book until my editor sends me comments. Once I have those, I'll shift back to Blood Law and revise. Then shift back to Book 2. The complete manuscript for the second book is due by the end of the year. I'm also working on another book, separate from the vampire series, that is the first part of a trilogy. Since it isn't under contract, I only work on it as I find the time, which I haven't found much of lately. ;D So, yeah, it's frustrating and it can drive you insane but the trick is to enjoy the high points and not dwell on the low points. I always say the two things authors need to succeed are 1. A really thick skin. 2. A really good therapist.

I have no idea what you guys do on release day. I just know how I feel waiting for stuff I want. It seems like I spend all my time waiting for stuff to get released. I hate waiting. Thiis is one of the reasons I love my Kindle so much. If there is a book I want and it's in Kindle format, I can have it in 30 seconds no matter where I am for the most part.

Yeah, I don't know what to do on release day either, except spaz completely. I think Blood Law will be available on the Kindle next summer, but I'm not certain. Will have to find out from editor. Hopefully you'll actually be able to keep it and not have Amazon suck it away.

I am very happy for T' the PIMP and have agreed to mentor her through the process. I gotcher back, babe. Vampy, which three authors? We'll have to up that number with stuff from RT next year. I am really looking forward to reading this book. What's the release date now? I know it was changed from this fall to early 2010, right? ARCS! We need ARCS! A contest...we need an ARC contest...T get on that, willya? Thanks, Deb, for being T's mentor. I'll go easy on her...for now. ::gulp:: Is it too late to change my mind? I'm pretty sure the blood isn't dry on the contract yet. ;D
