yea, streetdated is the company and the publisher get together and the publisher says 'if you sell this book before this date, we're penalizing you and maybe won't send you anymore books like this' and the company goes, okiedokie. so 4 dukes I can't get my hands on (other than sitting in the back and reading on my breaks) until tuesday, but if we have City, I could go get it now (I checked, it wasn't on the list). then other times, we'll have what is referred to as a laydown date, which is the publisher says 'hey, this is the date we have it listed as coming out, but that's just a general idea so you can let customers know ... if you get it before then, go for it'. so as long as it isn't on our list of 'titles specifically coming out on this day' we can sell it as soon as we get it.
