Don't forget about Palladium Books, the ones who did Robotech, and are doing the SC too, they are going very strong, with titles like Rifts, Palladium Fantasy, NightBane, just to name afew. I'm actually working on a world book for the Palladium Fantasy setting(it's very D&Dish.. only Better! lol).

lol...yup...wasn't sure if they'd survived...I thought they had...Personally, I never liked RIFTS much, it's a little too overpowered for my tastes, and the big problem is that each time they put out a new suppliment it gets worse because they have to not only keep it balanced, but have to maintain the threat factor...

*eg* well with each new World book comes new threats... I have all the PF, and Rifts books and most of the books from the other lines. I personally think it's the best system out there by Far. for a long time WW was my fav, but then they killed it and went to WoD 2.0 and that just ~sucks~

Well, WoD 2.0 isn't that much different from 1.5...though I have to admit that I miss the Nature/Demeanor...Sins/Virtues is much more limiting...
And the system for Rifts seems very well designed, I just think they have a problem with game ballance, then again with glitterboys and dragons wandering around how can you not have to min/max a charrie?

lol GBs and dragons in a good game are the Least of your worrys... the last Open House Palladium had I ran an Old Ones campain... and this next OH i'm running part 2( I was told that if i didn't continue it next year I would simply be hunted down and killed lol).

lol...but that does kinda prove my point...when a dragon the size of a mountain, and a battle-suit that would rip apart a veritech are the least of your worries, the game has ubered up quite a lot...

weeellll I don't know how well a GB would do against a VT, since the GB has to stand still to use the Boom Gun and the VT can just fly circles around him and take em out from behind. but I do see your point, it's really just comes down to how you like your power levels for your games.

I've heard a GB stands a pretty good chance of surviving ground zero of a nuke blast...the same can't be said of a VT, and certainly not that a VT can produce that kind of firepower

GBs are nice and all, but their real claim to fame is the fact that they have the laser resilient armor. they also have 770 MDC were as the VT only has 300, 400 if you add on the extra armor. so damage wise it can take little bit more of a pounding, but not by much. my money would be on the VT because it is Much more maneuverable... and has alot of missles ;D

I simply can't imagine the VT doing Mega damage...after all, they can't really take out cruisers...the SDF-1 on the other hand certainly does mega damage...

well going by the first gen FTs(the VT-1d, VF-1A, J, and S), they have high powered lasers built into the nose of the fighter for dog fighting and they do 6D6 per twin blast(can only be used in fighter mode), the head mounted lasers do 4D4 max, then it has it's rifle that does 4D6. now as said before these wouldn't do jack against the GB, that's why I like it's missles... it has light or med short range missles that can do as little as 1D6x10 to 2D6x10, then you have the long range missles that do 2D4x10 to 4D6x10 in damage. and if all else fails it can always just punch the GB for1D4 MD lol

lol...looks like the punch is your best bet since the others would be barely scratching the paint... I have a friend I'll have to re-show this thread to...he'd love the current discussion...
